My knowledge in MMA is extremely weak, just wondering who is P4P best? . I hear its Anderson Silva or Fedor Emelianenko. Just wondering and where does Georges "Rush" St. Pierre, he is my favourite fighter.

View Full Version : P4P best MMA fighter? Flawless 07-20-2008, 11:45 AM My knowledge in MMA is extremely weak, just wondering who is P4P best? . I hear its Anderson Silva or Fedor Emelianenko. I hear its Anderson Silva or Fedor Emelianenko. Just wondering and where does Georges "Rush" St. Pierre, he is my favourite fighter. "Fedor Emelianenko is the best pound for pound fighter to ever step into any arena, ever." Flawless 07-20-2008, 12:02 PM "Fedor Emelianenko is the best pound for pound fighter to ever step into any arena, ever." Is he that good. YUHHHHHHH! 07-20-2008, 12:04 PM Is he that good. Yes. All it would take is a few minutes on YouTube to prove it. The C.E.O. 07-20-2008, 12:09 PM He's in my personal Top 4...a great all around fighter and a class act. After last night.... 1. Fedor (clearly) 2. Silva (clearly) 3. Penn 4. GSP 5 - 10 could be any mix of several guys.... Blair_Wells#32 07-20-2008, 12:17 PM 1-Anderson Silva 2-GSP 3-Penn 4-Fedor YUHHHHHHH! 07-20-2008, 12:24 PM 1-Anderson Silva 2-GSP 3-Penn 4-Fedor That my friend, is a joke. GSP and Penn are great fighters, but they are far from better than Fedor. You don't get on top P4P because you beat Hughes and Sherk. The Legacy 07-20-2008, 12:30 PM It is between Fedor and Anderson Silva. Both scored impressive knockouts last night so the debate continues to rage on. For me: 1) Silva 2) Fedor 3) Penn 4) GSP Blair_Wells#32 07-20-2008, 12:31 PM u also don't get it from beating tim sylvia and hong man choi The C.E.O. 07-20-2008, 01:00 PM Silva has been AWESOME since he came to the UFC....but don't you have to take their overall record and competition into account if they're to be THE #1? The way I see it....Fedor has never lost straight up (he later avenged that illegal blow loss)....and he's fought and beaten the better competition of the two in the past... Silva has lost 4 times and was even caught by maybe the craziest submission move of all time... and since it's P4P....ofcourse you have to think...what if these guys fought each other at the same weight? I'd pick Fedor to win against any of them...confidently. Blair_Wells#32 07-20-2008, 01:29 PM u can look at their records as evidence but on the competitionside Penn,Gsp and Silva have all fought top notch competition on a regular basis as Fedor has fought only freak show fights for the past 2 years, with Sylvia last night being his only top 10 since then. jamesc 07-20-2008, 01:37 PM from what ive seen penn seems the most skilled....one of the few guys that deserve the tag 'mixed martial artist' Nodogoshi 07-20-2008, 02:15 PM Fedor IS the top p4p fighter in the world. There is not, and has never been, a fighter more adept at winning fights than Fedor. The C.E.O. 07-20-2008, 02:19 PM u can look at their records as evidence but on the competitionside Penn,Gsp and Silva have all fought top notch competition on a regular basis as Fedor has fought only freak show fights for the past 2 years, with Sylvia last night being his only top 10 since then. Fedor WAS in limbo fighting freaks....and that's why he wasn't my #1 again until last night....because it's also "what have you done lately?" when it comes to these lists.... Last night's performance put him back in the #1 spot for me...right where he was before Pride became defunct... They've all fought strong competition...some more than others....but Silva, Penn, and GSP have losses....losses against fighters they were better than...Penn, for example....for how skilled he is...he's lost 3 out of his last 7....GSP losing to Serra last year the way he doesn't help him....but as you can see...I personally don't hold it against them that much...because they're in my Top 4.... but going back to the what have they done lately thing....I'm sure you'll agree a Sylvia is definitely more of a challenge than an Irvin...and Fedor squashed him in half the time....and in an even more impressive fashion iMo.... I'm not gonna break Silva's UFC comp down because I respect the guy too much...he's a great, great fighter at the very top of his game right now. Anyway....I'm not here to argue or to try and change your mind as I know most people in combat sport forums are opinionated and stick to their guns...I'm just wanting to talk some MMA today....Fedor's and Silva's performances really rejuvenated me last night.....you're normally find me talking Boxing or some crazy ****...lol Don Corleone 07-20-2008, 03:21 PM That my friend, is a joke. GSP and Penn are great fighters, but they are far from better than Fedor. You don't get on top P4P because you beat Hughes and Sherk. You need to have more respect for GSP and Penn bud. I think you should go to Sherdog and take a look at their competition and who they have beat to truly understand how far they have come. A case can be made to put Fedor 2nd but no more then that and that would be debateable. This has been his only "real" competition of late. Hog Man Choi wasn't what you call real competition. He has shown that after a long time break of fighting some real MMA fighters, he can still do what he does and that's win in stunning fasion. If you really watch MMA and take out the bias, you will find yourself with Anderson Silva P4P NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD. That, I really don't see at debatable at all. Penn, GSP and Fedor can be argued. But if you look at it from a fan's stand point, then it's more of a bias toward Emelieneko. Anderson Silva won his first match in a whole different division in LHW. Even if Silva weren't to fight yesterday, I would still see him P4P number one. And again, you need to look at it from an MMA standpoint, not a fan's. Compare Anderson Silva's opponents in the last year compared to Fedor's competition in the last year and there is your answer. As far as it goes, I see the P4P top 5 like this, but 2,3 and 4 can be switched around but I have GSP because Hughes and Serra are better competition combined then Hong Man Choi and Tim Silvia 1. Anderson Silva 2. GSP 3. Fedor Emelieneko 4. Penn 5. Urijah Faber j 07-20-2008, 05:03 PM although we haven't seen much groundgame outside of his practice of it, cung le i think is a force to be ****ed with. he has great kicking ability, prety good punching, and excellent takedowns and sweeps. RagingBull22 07-20-2008, 05:07 PM Fedor is the Tiger Woods of MMA, he's the greatest of all time!! My Top 5 p4p list 1. Fedor Emelianenko 2. Anderson Silva 3. Georges St.Pierre 4. BJ Penn 5. Urijah Faber Don Corleone 07-20-2008, 05:42 PM Fedor is the Tiger Woods of MMA, he's the greatest of all time!! 1. Fedor Emelianenko 2. Anderson Silva 3. Georges St.Pierre 4. BJ Penn 5. Urijah Faber Is that your greatest of all time list or P4P because those are two different subjects... Brave_turtle 07-20-2008, 06:05 PM You need to have more respect for GSP and Penn bud. A.Silva is very close against Fedor and I can understand how some people can rank him over Fedor but GSP? Constructive explanation please.
