Nas Reveals His Feelings About Mobb Deep & 50 Cent

King Magazine recently released some lost excerpts of their interview with Nas. While most of it had to do with Nas discussing his early years in Hip Hop, one question and accusation proved to be a bit eyebrow raising.

"I ran into Prodigy last week and asked him, 'What should I ask Nas?' He said, 'Ask him, ‘What happened backstage at the Central Park show in 2004,’” Thomas Golianopoulos inquired.

“Man, that was some classic Mobb Deep ****. They was rumbling,” Nas replied regarding a fight that took place backstage between Mobb Deep and others. But Prodigy thinks that those involved were Nas’ people.
“He thinks you set him up,” Golianopoulos responded.
Nas went on to discuss his relationship with Prodigy and addressed the situation.

“I did hear that. Nah, I would never do that to him,” Nas retorted. “We had our differences, which was really just hyped up bull****. I wish everything for Prodigy. They caught a lot of bad breaks. I just wish the best for him. I wish he didn’t have to do this time. And I would love to see them come back again. I would be the first person in the record store buying a Mobb album. I want to see them give it to us however many more times.”
Nas also revealed how he felt about Mobb Deep joining G-Unit.

“I was really happy to see 50 embrace them. I thought that was G because that’s something that doesn’t happen from the higher ups. All these big companies, they don’t care about us. They don’t care about the talented ones that aren’t given a fair shot and I thought it was a good move on 50’s part to give them a deal.”

Nas' Untitled drops July 15th.

I agree with Nas. 50 definitely gave his crew around him and other artists chances to actually drop albums. Because the truth is many people still can't drop albums. This if Papoose or Saigon got with 50 an album certainly would have been dropped by now.

They gave the people her singles, anyway. The people just gave 'em back. MOP just ain't that kind of group. And Ma$e was busy buying male prostitutes.

I am the LAST person to defent 50 Cent, but he can't write EVERYONES music.

I know Mase had that problem with the career serial killer, still don't know what happened to MOP and hell know I wasn't expecting or care about what she drop, but she didnt drop which was what you were saying that if they sign with G-Unit they will taken care of. I see what your trying to say but if Remy or Papoose wouldve signed with them they would be how they are now on the shelf.

I just hope when 50 puts out LL's next CD, it isn't something fans have to pretend never existed when people discuss his discography...

That's still going down? I haven't heard about it much. 50 actually does a pretty good job in helping people actually drop their albums. LL is well established 50 won't change much. But maybe he'll bring out some of the fire out of LL instead of all the love songs.

wikipedia still has it up... I actually hope it's fallen through.

I actually can't imagine that the production would favor what LL's sound should be. That Headsprung stuff was garbage. LL needs to get with some old school beatmakers... Paging Pete Rock, come in Pete Rock
