Lamotta is overrated

In a pound-for-pound match-up, there is little question that Roberto Duran would win by wide decision. He was at a different level to that of Jake LaMotta, who is somewhat overrated because of the Raging Bull movie. Duran was arguably on the all-time top5 list, pound-for-pound.

If they met at middleweight I would have to give it to LaMotta. He was a true middleweight, and a fairly big middleweight at that, while Duran was a natural lightweight. I see the bigger man pounding the smaller man into submission to win by decision or late stoppage.

The one thing that LaMotta has over Duran is that granite-cast iron-titanium chin of his. And only 1/2 inch in height. Duran would connect, but it wouldn't budge "The Bronx Bull."

Duran's chin holds up well as long as Tommy Hearns ain't the one doing the throwing.

Something else to consider...remember how competative Duran was when he fought Hagler. And I feel that Hagler beats LaMotta W15 also.

A competitive one, just because of the weight. Duran was much better, but LaMotta was a natural mw, with an iron chin but Duran was a way too skilled for him.
