View Full Version : Randy vs. Fedor, who wins? MetalVomit 07-07-2008, 06:27 PM Looks like it's going to happen sooner or later. WLAD OWNS 07-07-2008, 06:34 PM Fedor would destroy Couture. one-Punch 07-08-2008, 01:06 AM Anybody who thinks randy would win this fight either has no idea who the hell fedor is or is delusional... simple as that. Nodogoshi 07-08-2008, 03:04 AM Let me put it like this, If Randy were to win it would be a TREMENDOUS upset (particularly given his age). Afterglow 07-08-2008, 08:42 AM If Randy were to win it would be a TREMENDOUS upset (particularly given his age). I agree.....but Randy seems to be the ageless wonder. The dude just pulls things out when nobody thinks he has anything left. The dude is amazing, and a legend in this sport. Fedor seems to have alot more in his game. Randy doesn't have bad standup. And he is a world class wrestler. But Fedor looks as if he is the total package. I didn't vote. If this fight ever took place I couldn't pick a winner. My mind would pick Fedor. But my heart would pick Randy. Randy is a great underdog. Dude has always been .But....There comes a time and a place when fighting at the top level becomes impossible. And this matchup could be one of those times when he gets exposed as being a guy pushing 50. Fedor has almost all of the advantages. But never count Randy out. MatsideObserver 07-08-2008, 11:03 AM If it happens in the Octagon maybe Randy. Anything can happen - heck I thought Crocop would dominate the Octagon and he was a complete flame out. Spare Moody 07-08-2008, 12:19 PM i agree that anything can happen and that Randy has proven doubters wrong more than any other fighter ever. but, besides those factors, there's really nothing to Randy's advantage. number6 07-08-2008, 12:39 PM Fedor is a class above anybody Randy has been in with, if he somehow pulled out a win it would be a huge shock especially at his age. I dont see it though. Nodogoshi 07-08-2008, 02:21 PM I agree.....but Randy seems to be the ageless wonder. The dude just pulls things out when nobody thinks he has anything left. Sure Randy would have a shot, and stylistically it may be a very good fight. Fedor is just too good though (if Randy proves able to avoid Fedor's submissions, his chances of victory would improve significantly). vinnie7731 07-08-2008, 08:20 PM I agree.....but Randy seems to be the ageless wonder. But never count Randy out. i agree, i think fedor wins this fight cause he is the better more well rounded fighter and younger as well. but my heart would definetly pick randy. you never know with that guy, he could pull off the win. hope it happens sooner than later.....time is not on randy's side at this point. Chunk. 07-08-2008, 08:24 PM Fedor is an expert in the ground and pound, and if by some chance Randy took him down, I don't see Randy's ground and pound even being close enough to Fedor's world class grappling skills. Fedor's a tough match because he's got monster grappling with amazing ground and pound and he's ultra durable. No i don't give Randy much of a chance. dog1dog2 07-08-2008, 09:45 PM While there's never denying Randy would have "a chance," I'd certainly have to pick Fedor.....The only thing that gives me some pause is the fact that he hasn't defeated (faced) a quality MMA opponent in a loooooong time.....but it's not like he's been in retirement, so I have a hard time imagining those skills have eroded to any significant extent. Now, if he struggles to beat Silvia, I may have to rethink this!;) |
