Gi or no-gi?

I enjoy both alot. I love no-gi because I used to be a wrestler and no-gi is alot like wrestling in some ways. People tend to be more aggressive with no-gi grappling.

But I PREFER and LOVE grappling with the Gi on. Some people go fast, some slow... but the matches are usually very technical and fun. It's great because you have to be careful of being submitted by so many different options.

Which do you prefer?

I prefer Gi at the moment because I have a judo backround so I've grown accustomed to wearing one.

I love both. I feel more fluid without it and more technical with it.

reality. so you go out in those cute spandex shorts to the bar. In the winter, do you not put a coat to keep warm. do you not wear pants? I think gi is more realistic to an everyday scenario, however ni gi might be more practical because of the rules.

You do not always wear jackets
most of the time I wear t-shirts so no gi is more realistic to me

Christopher Caos- Not bashing that you might live and make a living on the beach, however I'm sure that the majority of the population does not.
Just busting your chops, I still think that gi is more realistic in application of technique.

I like no Gi simply because it is fast paced. However, Ill never forget my Judo backround which is why I grabbed for clothes my last real fight.

No gi, because I am NOT a grappler and I would be dead with one on

I am going to be training with Gi more often because it adds more wieght and is generally more uncomftorable so as when I fight without one I will feel all that much better and quicker

Gi.. so I can apply my death grips. Starting to like no-gi just as much now.

Learn with the gi and you will be better without it......most of the time.

I love them both, but right now I prefer no gi because of mma. either way kicks ass though.

would you be wearing a gi on the street? I guess not. When you train no gi it doesn't necessarily follow that you don't wear a shirt

Collared shirt, sport jacket and coats work jus as well as a Gi. Its cold as hell here and everyone wears a coat or jacket. Therefore Gi techniques would work well.

I guess it depends on if you live in NJ or CA
