View Full Version : Black Belts
nance 08-02-2003, 03:21 AM I just wanted everyone to know that I don't say much because I know very little of the sport. But I am learning. And today I have proud news to report. My daughter Ashley and my husband, Jim, tested last week for thier black belts in Taekwondo. It was an especially hard test for Jim, since he came out of it with one sprained ankle, one wrenched knee, (bad takedown by the other person) and one VERY bruised hand (bad board break). Well, tonight was the promotions ceremony and both received thier black belts. I am extremely proud of them both and now we look forward to opening our own school in March of 2004. To those of you going to Van Nuys next week, we look forward to meeting you in person. In the meantime, have a great week!!!

In what way? They also do other things, it's more of a mixed martial arts school and KravMaga. That is what we will be offering as well.

box_banger 08-05-2003, 09:56 AM Congrats. That's awesome. I don't know how old your daughter is, but it should help with her confidence and discipline in any obstacles and challenges she faces in the future.
nance 08-05-2003, 04:07 PM Thanks to everyone for all of the positive comments. My daughter is 15. My son is also involved with TKD, although he took a break from it for 2 years. Our other daughter took it for a bit, but quit. We are hoping she takes it up again soon. She was attacked last summer and could use the self-defense.
DOGGx0 08-06-2003, 02:35 AM Congrats with everything. Hope everything works out. Where are you planning to have this school at?
Also, I'll see you next this weekend in Van Nuys! I'll have to stop and say hi. How will I know who you and your family are?

nance 08-07-2003, 08:29 PM To find me, look for a 5'7" blond wearing tan pants and animal print shirt walking around with a 6'2" man and a 5'5" 13 yr old with a buzz cut. I'm a bit on the "curvy" side, or "chunky" depending on how you look at it. ;-)
momita 08-07-2003, 09:23 PM And I will be the old lady there! (sheesh) Maybe I could show up naked.... then I could say I was wearing my wrinkled look?
Hey, tell Jim I said Congrats & Ash, uh oh so now I can't pull any funnies on them eh, they'll snap me into?? LOL.
