View Full Version : Any 20/20 fans here?
Don Gorgon 06-26-2008, 09:32 AM Chaps,
I'm going to my first 20/20 game tomorrow, to see Middlesex v Surrey.
Any of you guys been? What's the atmosphere like.
Also, do you think this "champions league" is a good thing for cricket?
The Monk 06-26-2008, 09:39 AM I've been to a few Warwickshire games. All in all they are a good evenings entertainment. Have a few beers before you go, (the prices inside are a joke), and get into the game as much as you can. It helps if it is a close match with both teams scoring highly.
The atmosphere is different to a football match in that it is a much more friendly occasion, but there was still alot of light hearted banter when i've been which is a good laugh.
Not sure what to make of the the champions league and I can't see it being to successful, but we'll have to wait and see.

Cheers. not sure what the prices are like at the Oval.
I think the champions league will be a good thing but the purists won't be happy as all sportsmanship will go out the window. Aren't they supposed to be getting £500,000 a head? It'll end up like football.
Patty Tanager 06-26-2008, 01:07 PM Not been for ages, but love watching it on TV.
I went Lancashire a couple of years back, and they let you take your own beer in (****ing quality!), should be allowed to do that at football. They even let us out the ground at at the interval and we all went to the local shop and came back with 8 cans, quality night.
Spambo boy 06-26-2008, 01:55 PM I really want to go, might have to try and get some tickets for hampshire.
Are tickets expensive??

Not any more im afraid. The counties realised the significant revenue to be made in the sale of alcohol in the grounds and now you can't take your own alcohol inside the ground.

Nothing worse than sitting in the rain at the cricket I can tell you. Hopefully it stays off so you get a game.

BETTY SWOLLOCKS 06-26-2008, 02:58 PM My dad went to a 20/20 match at the Oval the other week. He said it was pretty good, its a lot like being at the pub with a cricket match going on outside. A very expensive pub mind!!!!
He had a few drinks before so only had a couple in the ground but he said it was ridiculously expensive for watered down piss.
msagrain 06-26-2008, 03:06 PM I'm getting into it a bit, it way better than test.
