SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - San Francisco area police on Saturday recovered the car involved in a shooting that left a champion kickboxer dead on a busy downtown street. In an apparent hit-and-run accident on Friday night, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee shot Alex Gong at point-blank range after the martial arts champion chased the SUV barefoot down a crowded San Francisco street at rush hour. Gong, a world light middleweight champion who was training at the downtown gym he ran, apparently became incensed after the Jeep struck his parked car. "Some sort of confrontation took place," San Francisco Police Sgt. Neville Gittens said. "The window on the car was broken." The Jeep was found abandoned at a gas station in nearby Millbrae, California, with stolen license plates on it and police are examining it for clues to the identity of the killer. mmafanman 08-04-2003, 12:40 PM Some ****ing lowlife had a bad day and killed one of kickboxing's stars.
