I've only heard the Carter 2 and it's a good album although it does nothing for me to hear any more of his material.

He's most definitley overrated if you say he's a top 5 active rapper right now, but then again i haven't heard much of him to warrant an influential decision.

That being said, there are plenty less-mainstreamed emcees with more talent and not to mention skill and are better lyricists in my opinion, but like everybody else, opinions just cause debate. There are no facts when rating one artist against another to see who's better.

Can i ask Rosewood, why do you like him? Where would you put him among the active emcees right now?

I Also Like Lil Wayne. I thought The Carter 1 was his best album. I could feel his hunger through out his hunger. I like the Carter 3 too but Im Noticing that he went From Hardcore, To mainstream(thats still respectable),To Now Pop. And Im singlng out that T-pain Techno voice **** hes been doing. Lolly pop(wasnt as bad) is good for the clubs...but I think hes doing too much of that T-pain ****. I Do Repect That he sold his million quick, and his hustle, with his consistent mixtapes. He Really came a long way and has became one of my fvorite rapper's since 2004. But I hope he doesnt switch it up to that ****.

It's not that I don't like him. It's that he makes a claim which is simply untrue. He is the most POPULAR rapper, not the most skilled rapper, in the game today. Big difference.

He's decent. He has about a handful of songs that I like and he can be entertaining. But, he's no tth egreatest alive. If people got off his dick and he got off his own dick, he'd be much more enjoyable to listen to.

I dunno what it is with Wayne but tried to bump him and enjoy his music but I cant for somereason. When he starts doin all those baby voices and that just annoys me and I don't think he can really hold a song on his own but some of his verses on other peoples albums be better.

No I got that resolved. I didn't have the font installed on my computer in the user CP, fonts folder. I downloaded it and added it to this folder and now it's all good.:banana: If you can't see it, it's because you don't have Algerian font in your font folder. :lol1: I was ****ing pissed about that **** and spent an hour figuring out how to make it work.

Yeah, good post man! I'm from NE so I tend to like east coast guys from NY and ****. I really like ZionI but they are from Oakland. For me, the beats have to suit my taste otherwise I can't really feel it. I can make exceptions if the lyrics are really good though.

I like Wayne do to the fact that he's versitle on the mic..He's an artist that isn't afraid to stray away from the norm. A artist that takes chances with any and every beat know to man..Last, I love his work ethic..While other artist are waiting a year to feature and 5 years for their albums to drop, Wayne's on any and every track out there.."You don't work, you don't eat, you don't grind, you don't shine"....

I like some of his music, and was a fan in the Hot Boys days as well as now. But what I don't like is him making claims of being the best rapper alive. When someone claims they are the best at something you need something more than being featured on songs or album sales. What's "more"? You'll know it when you see it and I won't be a sheep like some and believe or buy into it when someone says they are the best. You got to wait...

Its just a bunch of random words put together, theres no coherent flow. On the first track off his new abum he talks about running in someones house and killing their grandma, then hes talking about how he told his mum theyd have nice **** one day, then hes talking about hoes. Its bizarre how anyone can take him seriously. I heard him on Westwood once and he asked him to freestyle, it went something like this

"Im lil Wayne, I bring da pain, I make it rain, its never the same

Im lil wayne, Im in da game, I like fame, look at my name"

It was appalling. I downloaded Tha Carter III to see what all the fuss was about, and Im sorry but he is just terrible.

I'm a little pissed at him for making Tha Carter II 7 minutes over your normal 80 min blank CD.....hence I had to erase one long song to make it all fit on 1 disc......maybe his own lil Way...ne of trying to limit piracy.

Too inconsistent for me. He's good when he's on a certain type of track, "Stuntin...." for example, but other times I find him impossible to listen to.

I definitely don't hate Wayne, I just don't see the basis for supporting him as the greatest thing ever. This coming from someone who has been listening to his material since he dropped "Block is Hot" all of those years ago. Your favorite artist...someone whose music you really enjoy? Sure. I just can't see putting him on a level with Nas, Rakim, Big, Pac, etc. Nothing he has done has ever blown me away.

I agree. Kanye, Lil Wayne, and Cee-Lo Green (although nobody would know CeeLo) are the best all around out right now... But I really wasn't too impressed with Tha Carter III... It has its great songs like Shoot Me Down, but In my opinion as an album Graduation was much better.

But DONT GET ME WRONG. Wayne sometimes says **** I don't know how he ever thought of, and he mixes it up well with his flow. He really has potential to be great, but wastes it on songs like Lollipop. His best moments are forgettable, compared to Kanye's albums. Wayne falls into talking about his money a lot and has to drop f-bombs a lot, Kanye just doesn't need to do that. I can't see how people can put Wayne ahead of Kanye.
