In your opinion, what is it that makes an album a classic?
Great guest spots, high sales, innovative beats, creative concepts?
Let me know what you think :D

I would say a general theme or feel throughout the album. Top notch production matched with lyrics/flow. And limited appearances. Because if there's so many features it just turns into a ****ing mixtape.

What about The Chronic? That had guest spots everywhere!
I get what you're saying though, I like to just hear the artist on their own album most of the time but OB4CL is an exception. I think that excelled because of the help from 'Tony Starks'.
Do you regard 'A Long Hot Summer' a classic? That's one album that springs to mind where it is the same story throughout.

True about the Chronic. But that's a producer's album/compilation.

I would say the whole concept of the album..An album that has meaning but at the same time is appealing to the people, see The Soul Machine..It has to have lyrics, style, soul, beat, etc. The workmanship of it is great! Mixed down to the "T"...

I think time is the best judge of an album.
If it still sounds good a decade later, it's classic.
