In my opinion it is. The sting of origin football is gone. Probably due to half the Queensland players being from NSW and Vice versa.

Clubs are in debt. Relying on poker machine revenue.

The games seem boring.

There are no characters left.

My view : We need to get back the biff. And we need outrageous personalities. Remember a few years back when some players were claiming racism and doing backflips, and Tallis punching everyone. Those were the days.

Agree with that. ANZ stadium looks **** at every bulldogs game. 80 000 empty seats.

i wouldnt say dying yet.. by the sounds it cant compete with the expansion of AFL in sydney.. still thriving in Queensland though.. there'll be a 4th queensland team in the national comp by 2011

i live in melb, and i prefer league over afl...but at the moment it looks pathetic..the crowds are ****e and the people are to blame.

i think the a league had better crowds last year...and that is a shame on the arl community.

i hope it improves, but it doesn't seem to be heading that way.

Theres nothing good about the sport anymore.

The refs make mistakes every game. The video referee stalls the game.

And most importantly there is no biff. And everyone is robots! They all do the same thing. Avoiding fines and suspensions.

That has nothing to do with it, what does is NRL relying solely on TV rights to keep the clubs alive. Getting tiny crowds every game is a signal of a dieing game, happened to the NSL and it's happening to league.

Good point. It's not dead, but when you see games on Fox being played at ANZ with like a crowd of 10,000 it looks alarming.

Two games there, too bad nearly every game i see the crowds are less than 10 thousand. Must be demorilising for players to run out and not even see the half way line packed with fans.
