I don't know much about BMW's and how well the engine lasts usually, but you might run into a problem with that car, if you buy it. AgonYx0 07-23-2003, 06:40 PM the dude also has a 95 civic for 700, the civic would be better huh? The Ensanity 07-23-2003, 06:41 PM Seriously I want the civic...PM me his # FOR 700!!! I wonder whats wrong? Tom 07-23-2003, 06:43 PM Kimee, ya but for 700 bucks there is someone wrong, maybe not showing or noticeable now, but there is definitly something wrong with it. If you have any friends that are good with cars or a mechanic, go check out the car with him and let him do a little inspection b4 you buy it. I would check out the car either way tho Hondas can get like 250,000 on the engine if you take care of it. My friend had his up to 230,000 before he bought a new car AgonYx0 07-23-2003, 06:44 PM i dont have his #, i will be there test driving cars tomorrow, ill get it for you and email u from my cell or when i get home, i think this guy even has a "Sable", or what ever there called. BMW's can handle a lot of miles. They are built much better than the average car. That is a good price for the area you live in. Just take it to a garage and have an inspection and emissions check done first before you buy it. For that car, even if you have to put a little money in it will still be a good investment. I would ask Ruffneck though because he knows more about BMW's than I do. I know I've never seen one for sale for under $1500. Tom 07-23-2003, 09:05 PM Good advice. Mr. Beelzebub 07-23-2003, 09:32 PM BMW's (specially 3 series) have a lot of problems with the emission system. You most likely will need a need oxygen sensor that goes for about 100 bucks, also the rotor can't withstand a lot of heat and warp with time. That is nothing compare to the biggest problem that is the ICV valve. If the RPMs are not stable while idling, the ICV valve is malfunctioning. Bimmers are the best cars outthere, but once they hit 100,000 they're a pain in the ass. Curly Howard 07-23-2003, 09:34 PM but for the price.......you can't get much for $650.00 Curly Howard 07-23-2003, 09:35 PM but then again the parts are going to be a lot higher Mr. Beelzebub 07-23-2003, 09:37 PM I have a '85 318i. And I have to invest about 2000 to make it run decent. It's fun to work on it on the weekends, though. Parts are maaaaaaaaaddddd expensive. That's why I love my lil' Honda. Curly Howard 07-23-2003, 09:42 PM yeah the caddi is the same way...the guy at napa loves to see me walk in. Tom 07-23-2003, 10:54 PM cha ching! |
