Last week i sparred a new guy, hes abit heavier than me, quite a bit taller and has a much longer reach! my trainer only put us in together because hes new and i now have abit of xperience and im the closest to his size--- i dont really think it went my way but people are telling me it did but im not satisfied!

my trainer kept telling me to get on the inside....has any1 got any help with this or any advice on how to beat sum1 with a longer reach?

inside...

outside...

the definition of both is being outside of your opponents punch range, or being Inside his punch range..

from the outside when punches come u should be moving OUT, and block / use your legs to defend..
from the insideee when punches come u should be in close so a guy cant really throw much at you, but punches that do come u should be blocking or slipping / bobbing and weaving..

theres also different ways to fight on the inside... u can go JUST inside enough to land easy or u can smother your opponent, use your weight to lean on him and get so close he cant throw punches at you!

i hope this advice helped a bit, bcuz to me the inside outside game is the first thing a guy should learn..

good luck
