Draw it on with a Sharpie.
Bendigo 05-26-2008, 03:38 PM You can do all the situps and crunches you want, but if there's a considerable layer of fat covering them up, you won't get to see the results of all that hard work. Get some cardio in to shed the excess fat.
P4PKING_2008 05-26-2008, 03:38 PM Lose weight.
msagrain 05-26-2008, 03:55 PM running helps too.
MusclesMalone 05-26-2008, 04:14 PM abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym. lose some pounds brother and all the crunches will shine through.
YUHHHHHHH! 05-26-2008, 06:14 PM Cardio and a healthy diet.
Gato2012 05-26-2008, 06:19 PM go jogging son
Roocky 05-26-2008, 06:39 PM Do **** loads of cardio and get a proper diet, then youll see the results:boxing:
D.I.E.S.E.L 05-26-2008, 06:49 PM The importance is in this order. Diet/Exercise/Consistency. Focus on exercises known to burn fat all over the body such as squats, pull-ups and other exercises that focus on major muscle groups.
Salty 05-26-2008, 11:05 PM Every exercise will burn fat from every area, you can't spot reduce fat. This is why you have to be low body fat% as in males the stomach is the last place to lose fat, where with women it's the ass. So step up the cardio, get enough protein in your diet and do a range of ab exercises not just crunches every day. Then you will see results.
Unanimous 05-27-2008, 04:02 AM I posted this in yet another abs thread, so here you go for all who missed that:

****loads of abs excercises.
angus the bull 05-27-2008, 04:39 AM Man you can do as many sit ups and crunches and have the best diet and still not have a six pack. It is the way you are built... I have a guy at my gym, extremely fit and good diet strong abs and he doesn't have a six pack. It is just the way your built. You could see your abs after a while but not everyone has the perfect six pack mate.
mr tricky 05-27-2008, 08:31 AM you have got to eat less,
thats the main thing,
just eat less ans you will soon see results,
wen u do situps youve got to be atchuly pushing yourself until its sore and hurts,
eat less, work hard,

he needs to run.. eating less just lowers the calories and sit-ups just increase the size of the muscle...
he needs to Eat correctly to have enough energy to work out correctly... just eating less will only lower his energy... running will burn the calories and work the muscles....the eating right will allow the body to use the fat for energy instead of being tired...
Unanimous 05-27-2008, 10:09 AM Have to say, I totally agree with Cat. I only noticed my abs starting to appear once I had disciplined myself to running 3 times a week.
Fidayin 05-27-2008, 10:40 AM First you need to build a good 6 pack and then cut weight to make sure the six pack is visible. So this is what you have to do , train for a month wheightlifting, crunches,... building muslce. When you are building muscle you have to eat a lot so make sure you eat arround 3000-3500 kcal a day. and then after a month you will have built a sixpack. Then all you have to do is burn the fat so your sixpack is visible , during this time you will have to do lots of cardio and eating 2000-2500 kcal a day.
Don't start now with eating less and doing lots of cardio cause then you will not build any muscle, your abs will get stronger but you wont get a nice six pack.

Tenacious 05-27-2008, 02:11 PM Like everyone is saying, its really about diet first of all. You need really low body fat for your abs to show. Run a lot, lift some weights and watch what you eat will get your abs showing.

what foods should i definatley NOT eat?
DA1CATAS 05-28-2008, 09:15 AM To manage weight all around.. cut out your bread and pastas.. that will significantly control your weight...
I'm actually surprised that most boxers don't know this...
But to concentrate on the mid-section you have to cut out salty food... Sodium from food rests around your stomach and gathers fat and lots of water.
Try stopping the chips along with your diet and training.. it will happen.

Unanimous 05-28-2008, 10:08 AM Cut out bread & pasta!!! I can't afford to do that, I've lost far too much from my body as it is!
Oh well, I'm gona have to accept I'm not going to have abs as good as Cat. Does it make any difference that I only eat wholewheat bread & pasta?
EDIT: Just realised you wrote similar to me Sterling! Spooky!

lol but working harder than me would be superb and i'd be impressed.. because i do alot..
But it is possible with any diet you have.. cut the sodium.. thats the biggest thing.

lol.. are you hispanic? italian?
I use to eat alot of pasta and bread... I have many rolls on my fridge right now.. like 5 packs.. we love them with butter and adobo...
But yea i just don't eat them.
I eat lots of meat.. fruits..vegatbales.. oatmeal (special kind with 23% fiber and 6 grams protein added)...Lots of oat cereal which also has fiber...
I have candy which might not work for everyone...
Drink water... and against popular belief i wake up around 1 am and just eat a hand full of oat cereal or special K.... and i lose my 2 pounds over night..

No lol im half jamaican.
Jamaicans are notorious for heavy food a gd example is frank bruno who never had stamina because of his build.
So what is this oatmeal u have? i eat chicken, mutton, fish and sometimes steak.
I wana get bran flakes extra fibre ceral but can never find it so i just eat bran flakes kelloggs.
Is special K any good to?

hey cat....what kind or brand of oatmeal you eat?? I eat Quaker oatmeal
Tenacious 05-28-2008, 11:29 AM Well I dont know what your eating now, but you probably know this cut out all fast food, processed food, soda, and lower your carbs. Try to eat carbs (oatmeal) only at breakfast and post work out (whole grains).
Luke.l.08 05-28-2008, 04:51 PM i drink volvic flavoured water...is that ok?
Tenacious 05-28-2008, 06:43 PM I have no idea what that is but read the label if it has alot of carbs and sugars its not good for you.. stick to water, and green tea.
Unanimous 05-29-2008, 08:36 AM cut the sodium.. thats the biggest thing.
Thankfully I don't eat that much salt. But just to satisfy my curiosity, why's the sodium bad for abs?
Salty 05-29-2008, 11:22 AM It causes a lot of water retention, thus making you look bloated, losing your 6 pack
