I have a vid up with me body sparring a light heavywieght hes like in his late 30's and been boxing longer then me and hes a brawler.
I have noticed i have problem with brawlers on the inside with a couple of brawlers in my gym they seem to mess up my boxing and i tend to try to counter punch for some reason when im in the inside.
Whats the best way to deal with a brawler?
If u can see by the vid he got the better of me even tho i was tired ever time i came close to him he just out punched me and beat me to the punch everytime.
Doesnt always happen but thats one style im having problems with.

Was there any need to call body sparring gay? i spar full contact or to the body.

there is no answer to your question , you can't do much against a brawler who is heavier then you at body sparring. it's not like you can keep him on a distance by jabbing to his body. Post a video of you sparring for real then people can see what u are doing wrong.

Well that vid was jus a example of what i do when im sparring a brawler but im stil waiting on that dam vid of my friend with me sparring this other brawler.

You need to stick ya jab. But body sparring vids do not help at all. I recommend joining a new gym that will let you spar.

I don't think you will ever have the advantage vs a brawler on the inside.
None the less you should look up footage of Floyd Mayweather Sr vs Sugar Ray Leonard.

Floyd lost that fight but he still did some pretty good actions when Leonard was brawling him on the ropes. Floyd just kept his guard up and threw a very fast flurry now and then. I guess that would score alot of points in AM since most brawlers don't keep their guards up themselves while punching.

well for a start body sparring is bull**** and wont help you ever, especially in the ams. we do it as a drill sometimes at our gym but we do far far more real sparring. if you want to be serious about boxing you have to be doing proper sparring at least 2 times a week. and you should be doing about 3-4 hard rounds each time. im only 14 and i usually spar around 15-20 rounds per week and they're all either with my trainer, some adults at the gym or another guy whos only a bit older than me.

so the point is body sparring isnt really a help especially in the ams were body punching achieves basically nothing, i learnt that with my first fight which i lost because i just went to the body

Then why dont ya show us some sparring if you have actually sparred yet that is. Body sparring is **** anyway you wont use it in a fight.
