Can someone actually help me with british amatuer scoring? because i stil dont get it i mean if this guy cant even get a point for a knockdown then what the heck does he have to do? more so what do i have to do?
This was on tv channel 4 so proberly quite a few people watched it and felt disgusted i know i did.
I gt better eyes then the judges i seen about 50 punches land but there was only 12 - 2 to ogogo the guy of big brother and the guy he was fighting knocked him down and got no point! wtf

If i was ogogo i would of been ashamed of that win i wudnet even be proud to be british champ when i won like that.

Robinson has had 3 fights with a guy from our gym, our guy demolished him in 2 of them and tired himself out in the third, he should of been there ;P

As far as I know, correct me if i'm wrong though, points are scored for body and head shots only, the shot has to come from a transfer of weight and not just a swing, something like 2 of the 3 judges have to click the shot as a point scoring hit in order for it to be scored. Also, the obvious, the punch has to hit with the white part of the glove.

At 1:27 i'm shocked as hell that Robinson didn't get a point, he got a clean shot. When Ogogo went down at 1;44 in the video that was a slip, not much different than when Robinson hit the canvas at the start. Wasn't a knock down.

i think a knockdown should score at least 3 points, never mind 1

Yeah the scoring is ****ing ****ty. What they should do is - instead of relying on the judges pressing the button at the same time.

Each judge should have an individual score card (button machine) score the punches the same... however at the end... you have 3 judges who will all have a different score. Pick your winner like that.

I hate the scoring system for the ams. I'd prefer body shots were counted as the fights would be better I feel. So many am fights you see, the boxers technique more or less goes out the window early on and then it's just a mad scramble to get in as many head shots as poss.

haha i totally agree im gna try and keep my composure hopefully in my first fight.

Easy said then done Sterling, I will struggle this Thursday as i cant breathe properly so hopefully ill stop it first round as ive stopped this guy in the first before!
