Depends on what you mean by huge, he's like 5'2"... Other than that, his physique is a blend of genes and a lifetime of training harder than you can imagine. The Cubans train from the time they're five years old.

Oh right dam i want his physique lol well i guess thats cubas advantage over boxing because of how young they train.
I wonder what kind of life he had growing up.

On the other hand, their system is exactly why they're so good. If they had a choice, they wouldn't be training as hard. They wouldn't have the ability to channel that much money and expertise into boxing, if they were a "free" country. A lot of those guys fail to live up to their potential, once they defect, and suddenly don't have the strict way of life anymore. Their lives are basically one big training camp.

I've seen those guys at tournaments. They're very undisciplined once they're on their own. Smoking, drinking, partying.

A totalitarian system is generally not a good thing, but it's very effective when it comes to developing elite athletes.

Different people will weigh different things even being the same size. To aim to be the same size and weight as another is pretty hard. Height obviously comes into the equation, at the same weight the taller they are the leaner they are, body stature, ecto', mesmo' or exo'...Bone density, sounds weird but some people can have quite 'heavy bones' and finally muscle spread. Some people hold their weight in their arms, some in their chest, some in their legs. Forget trying to recreate somebody else's body on you.

These are from like November or some sh!t. I wouldnt say i have a build exactly like Gamboa because im my own man but i think its kinda similar. Plus im taller!lol.

Gamboa is not a featherweight, he has to undergo radical (and unhealthy) dehydration to make weight. In his last fight he was showing clear signs of fatigue. If his opponent had been a little better that fight would very likely have had a different outcome.

y so obsessed with your body and weight......your never gunna look like gamboa hes been training since he was a young kid and he won an olympic gold medal, and nw hes already got a name for himself as a pro, you aint ever gunna look like that , just train normally and try to get to the level where you can have an actual bout.

Never say Never man. If he starts training now in a good 3 years he could look like Gamboa. I'm planning on getting a physique close to tyson in 4 years.

I can't speak directly for da1, but I think he just wants to get stronger and stronger. No real limit, I think. Personally, I know that after getting in shape over the summer (getting abs, muscle definition), there is no real "goal" that I want to reach. I just want to get stronger, more defined, more fit. No real limit. Keep working and working.

Im at like 0% body fat right now lol but i would love to get my legs strong as hell. They are the only things that tire when im fighting. My breathing is fine, my arms are fine, but my legs tend to tire. The way i fight i move a lot and rely on speed thats probably why.

nothin.. i wanna stay at 165... if/when i go pro hopefully i can do it at 160.

sorta what that guy said... i just wanna get stronger and faster...

I'm gonna reveal a huge secret of mine that people might not believe...

Our bodies were Made by God in his likeness... If done correctly i believe there is no limit to anything to do with it... just takes the confidence and determination to reach and aim past any goal you've set from the very beginning... Can you even understand what I actually just said?

please don't bash me guys.. thats just what i believe.. hopefully one day i can prove it in a way everyone can believe...

but for now just take it as the Motivation of my ridiculous(maybe sometimes stupid) training habits. They've increased and made me better in short amounts of time.. thats why to myself i still look ridiculously out of shape to be honest. I know what im actually aiming for... and its not all in the look.

ok im done beating you guys over the head with this... i won't bring it up again.

Naw man if anything we should thank you, i hate it when people tell others that thers a limit to what he or she can do. We're all made up of the same thing so if one person can do it we all can it just takes that extra push in all of oneself to accomplish it.

If the thread starter wants to look like Gamboa its certainly possible, it will take a while but its possible. I've talked to some trainers around my area and i told them i'd want a body similar to tyson's they said its possible. Everything isn't just in Geneteics. well i had to say that thats all

I do think genetics plays a HUGE role. People are genetically different. We are not all the same. People like Juan Diaz cant look like Yuriorks Gamboa. Everyones bodies are shaped different, built different. Muscles are slightly different shapes and sizes. Some people have 4 packs, some have 6 packs, some have 8 packs. Some peoples chest muscles are shaped different. We are all different. The threadstarters body looks much different than Gamboa, i doubt he will ever look like him. He can get ripped or jacked out of his mind, but wont look like Gamboa.

thats my opionion.

When i say look like him i mean Ripped. I don't mean like have the body just like him, sorry i should of clarified this earlier.
But yeah Genetics plays a factor but people overruse it.

i want my abs to look like gamboa's. those evenly spread out, big 6 pack muscles.

now, i doubt ima ever see my body get to be like pacquiao or zab judah's, but i know i can get ridiculously ripped up into my own being.

As has already been said, everybody's different. Why do people crave perfection so much? Oh, yes, I forgot, it's down to our image-obsessed society.

Personally speaking I'm doing all my workouts in order to keep fit but inevitably my muscles have grown, fat has disappeared and toning has occurred. To me it's just a great side-effect. Oh, and evenly spread out 6 pack? Well, my abs are starting to show themselves now and they're slightly wonky but I think THAT is perfect. Why, because then it looks 'natural' and also it's one of a kind - not like something out of a comic book!

^lol chill out yo.

if anything, these boxer's abs/physiques gives me motivation to work harder. like some others said, you could tell the years of work put into laboring their bodys.

sounds like somebodys a bit frustrated from being told they're not "adequate". =X

Being a good boxer is 90 procent genes and 10 procent hard work.

Nope, just frustrated that some people seek "perfection". Don't get me wrong, I've got a pretty good physique - but that's a side effect of my hard work. I think what I mean is, I get frustrated when people get involved in this "for a better body". Surely people should be aiming to get fit.

well, yea.....the thing is, if i really wanted to only "look" good i would lift a lot more weights and other things. but i'd rather be really lean and have that look that shows i really put in boxing work instead of just doing cardio and weights. it would just be a shame if i didnt even have good abs despite being really skinny and ripped elsewhere.
