For once im gonna be serious and ask a serious question. Does anyone on the forum suffer from any type of depression? I know I suffer from clynical depression and it sucks ass. I get mood swings, sometimes I can sleep for days on end and sometimes I cant sleep for days. Ive even seen a shrink because of the sleepless nights and the bouts of depression and never leaving my room. Has anyone here ever sufferd from depression? Im not talking about wanting to kill yourself specificaly im just talking about depression in general, and if so what are things you would do to get yourself out of it? I know I like to hang out with the few friends I have, drink a few beers at night around a fire and listen to some relaxing tunes. Smoking a little bit of weed dont hurt either \m/

Sounds like you might have unipolar depression.

You mean clinical depression? I don't mean to be a spelling police but I just want to make sure. The meds they give you are helpful but it's nice you're using self-therapy. But I seriously doubt that beer and pot are better than the meds. Try something else, for the love of God.

People see depression as a bad thing, but it's really not. It keeps you in check with what's wrong with you physically and mentally. Once you understand it, it becomes easier for you to recognize, then you can fix it. Plus, having lack of sleep is not so bad. You get a lot of things done during that time. You can turn it around and make it useful for you.

You know I never looked at it that way. But I spend half my time awake trying to sleep or wishing I could sleep.

i get depressed all the time. the only thing that gets me out of it is when i realize that it's my CHOICE to get depressed.

to deny your pains, sadness, hurts, angers, and troubles is flat out stupid. darkness exists within us and that is that...but when i sweep my floors every other weekend i put the trash in the trashcan...not under the rug.

it's not where you stand but where you move. that tells you what type of person you are.
depression sucks. we all go through it. your real character, and true self, will come out in these times and will hopefully direct you in the right direction.

I like your trash in the trashcan analogy. You have great analogies.

sometimes i think that NOBODY can possibly know what it's like to go through the hurts and struggles that i see everyday.

in reality, some go through worse and some don't. so it's not what MY situation is that matters...otherwise humanity would have collapsed a long time ago.

no matter what you're going through, somebody is going through worse and they are handling it a lot better than you.
remember that.

don't ever give up. don't ever ever ever give up...the world caters to weak people. so we might as well piss it off and bleed strength.

Yea I know a little bit about depression. What you’re going through sucks, my suggestion however is to take the medication that the doctor gives you; and to take it regularly. I’ve been on medication for a long ass time and it actually helps to a degree. Keeps me from going insane, lol. No but I’m serious. I was depressed like you are, I think it was a little worse though.

I had it all planned out man. My mom left for work at 7am every morning. I took a lot of blood-thinning pills the night before and had sat in a tub of warm water after she left the following morning. I figured that I would have all day to drain out before she got home, so I was pretty confident that it was going to work. ...then she came back because she left her purse, ****. To make a long story short I spent a little while in an institution. It was weird, lol... saw some mother ****ers walking around every now and then and told myself that I shouldn’t be with a bunch of ****’n tards. So I started taking the pills they gave me everyday to humor the doctors, and it helped!! I was released and am still on them. Going to up my dosage today!! HEHEHE!!

Anyways dude, take your pills. It makes it a **** load easier.

The best things I find in getting over depression are friends, fighting, and religion
