I think it depends on what ur looking for I have used N large2 and got great results. Im currently using Olympia and just started taking that one I ve heard great reviews on it though. Fairly cheap when looking at a 2lb or 3lb jar. Nlarge2 was great economically as well. I think you just have to figure out what your aiming for.

I personally use milk after a workout and its working out pretty good considering its not even a protein shake. 3 glasses of milk after a workout if 25 grams of protein.

One very important thing to look out for is in the ingredients.

If the powder has "Aspartame" or "Acesulfame-K" listed in the ingredients don't buy it.

Both these artificial sweeteners are actually slow releasing poisons. If there's a history of neuro-degenerative diseases in your family then you definitely must keep away from them. They've been linked with alzheimers disease by independent Doctors and Scientists.

The one I use is Designer Whey Protein. You have to get the "natural" flavour though so you don't get artificial sweeteners because they're flavoured varieties all contain them.

I didn't write it to scare people (though it probably did). I can imagine people looking at their ingredients labels right now! I wrote it because this sort of information is supressed by the FDA and the food industry because of how cheap artificial sweeteners are. In saying that though, there's plenty of research out there on the web, as well as books on the subject.

That's not the way you should be using your protein powder. It's meant to supplement your diet not replace meals.

Protein powders aren't there as a method for weight loss. Protein feeds muscles prior to workouts and helps them recover after workouts.

Ideally you should have your protein powder 30mins - 60mins prior to your workout and then immediately after your workout (within 15mins).

Also, although the powder tastes better in milk I would advise mixing with water and this will allow the protein to get where it's needed much quicker. Generally I have mine with milk prior to work out and with water after.

Maximuscle is the best brand on the UK market, trust me. I've tried American ones as well but I have noticed the most consistent improvements with Maximuscle. The products I use and may be suitable for you is Promax extreme and possibly Cyclone. Promax has a high whey protein percentage, I think it's 85%. Great for after a workout. The BEST product on the market in my opinion is Cyclone. It is an all in one whey protein, amino acid, glutamine and creatine monohydrate formula. Now I don't now your weight, whether or not you do boxing seriously but alot of boxers stay clear of any products with creatine content. I didn't let myself take any supplements with it for years (and it is only creatine monohydrate) because I didn't want to add unnecessary bulk and gain alot of weight, and look like a lot of guys at the gym that look bloated like they have been injected with water! The ironic thing is I think I started taking cyclone about 6 months ago... This time last year I was over 12 stone... Today I was 71 kilos, 11 stone, and I'm stronger and fitter then I have ever been. I am not employed by maximuscle if it sounds like I'm advertising! I train very hard and my achievements are from my hard work and not supplements! But it is great for recovery, it enables you to train as much as you want without aches. It everything your body needs for energy strength and recovery, I highly recommend it. Take two scoops an hour before you train and one scoop with two scoops of promax after! I hope this helps.

Nice one! Although it does contain "artificial flavours" and, as is always the case, these "flavours" are never listed. Although it doesn't contain Aspartame, there's every chance it contains "Acesulfame-k", which some say is actually worse than aspartame.

Great stuff bizzle LDN, I have been looking at Maximuscle, there is just soooooo much stuff. I have been thinking about creatine, I dont box amateur or pro so bulk is ok. I just train as I have found that boxing is less boring than hitting (insert own boring electrified gym equipment here). Ill look at the cyclone stuff, I don't really get too sore the next day I have been into weights for a few years and my diet is pretty clean.

Thats some good advice thanks !
