Whoopie, my compulsory army service starts tomorrow (Monday, 14th of July).
I'll be heading to the Signal regiment at Riihimäki, Finland.
Next time I'll be back home maybe 2-4 weeks and make a report about my progress.
I'll do my best :killyou:
Oh yeah, it'll last for 6, 9 or 12 months.

Cool, good luck.

Thank you very much.
Signal regiment is pretty easy place. The night silence is at 22:00-23:00 and the morning starts at 6:00.
I'm 176cm (~5'9") tall and weight about 82kg (~180lbs). My condition is kind of ok, I think I'll do a lot better without the fat. I started running about 9 months ago, but didn't change eating habbits (mistake).

About the place.
They have computers (with Internet access), Playstation 2, games, TV's and some other stuff.

Hehe, mostly cleaning the room (13 people atm), toilet and some other stuff.
Walked 6km and we run from place to place, etc. Very boring and I'm really tired.
Food is great, played a bit with RK62
I can't tell that I have made any progress other than on the military aspect. Made already good friends.
I'll update after I get some sleep :)

No update because I'm not allowed to tell any details. So, I've lost a lot of weight from 82kg to 76kg (167lbs).
We were on a camping trip for a week and slept only ~3h a night. The last night lasted from 24:00 to 03:30 (I was guarding from 2:45 to 3:30) and then we packed everything and left.
On a sidenote, I will be trained as a "leader" medic.
Ask if you need to know something, I'm not sure if I'll tell but ask :)

Sounds like a ****in cool place to be...

No it's not cool, the discipline is kind of killing people, a lot of pressure. We have to clean every day the room, toilets and some other places and some higher people check the places, we have to do really carefully the bed and when we go to sleep we have to do a nice packet out of the bedspread.
There's a picture of some beds.
And a picture of the packet. As you can see there are squares on the bedspread, and when you make the packet, those squares must be on correct places, if not it will "explode" and you have to do it again. A few days ago we had 4 minutes to do it, and I was the only one whose bedspread didn't explode, so I had 10 minutes to go to the bathroom and wash my teeth, others had like 0-2 minutes :)

Oh and a correction, I'm 5'10" tall.

Please, ask questions.
There are some pics of the place where I am (taken 2003, before I entered).

Nope, not me in those pics. The people doing the compulsory army service are from 18 to 30 years old. We have a weekend holiday almost every week and almost every day we can (in theory, mostly 1-3 nights at this point) go to the city and have a couple of beers.
It's all discipline but there's a lot of humor.
We aren't allowed to smile, but they do stuff that make us laugh and then the leaders (the leaders are just like me, doing their compulsory service. I might go to the "leadership" cool, but it's hard to get there. Only 1-2 leader medics are picked from ~500 people) will tell us something like "Suck that smile up your ass!" and then they'll suck air like a maniac.
Last week we had 40 minutes to eat, clean our room (you can't believe how good we have to clean it. The leaders pick up a garbage bin [the garbage bin must always be empty when we are not in the room] and hit the bottom when the bin is upside down, so long that some stuff will drop from it, and say "What do we have in here?! Dirt! Clean this room again!"), the toilets, garbage & cleaning equipment service and our lockers (which have to look exactly the same when we are going on a holiday).
Usually it takes 60 minutes just to clean the rooms, well the hilarious comment made by our leader was "Eat fast and enjoy while cleaning" :)
He's our other "High" leader:
The one who said "Eat fast..." is Jutila
And here's the notorious SA-Int (Finnish Army) phantom:
