all depends on what your doing,

you can , double jump, cris cross, knees up, running, fast slow, mediaum pace ect......

if your talking about basic skipping at medium pace, then i could go for a while but i will trip a few times but i could keep going

I think the most I've done is an hour non stop but even with doubles, side to sides, criss crosses it gets boring.......an hour running will get you more tired and is probably more beneficial from a cardio perspective.

Everything should be in context, perhaps do three x three minute rounds of skipping, then three rounds shadow, three rounds heavy bag then maybe three rounds sparring?

I go pretty hard for 3 minutes then take a one minute break, then repeat for 8-10 rounds. I usually average 600 jumpropes per 3 minutes.

i can go hard doing tricks like double jump criss cross moving back and forward skipping fast etc for about 10 mins straight, and i can skip basically (just an ordinary boxers skip) for about 40 mins straight

I've went 2 hours b4... but i just go 30-45 mins before my workouts now... You are gonna need music and more than 20 songs if you do this though. If ya ipod dies it sucks...

I could skip pretty much indefinitely at an easy pace but normally its 15 mins at breakneck speed doing crisscrosses, double unders etc.

never tried how long i can skip, but if i skip at medium pace i think i can skip 'til i get bored. :D
My normal warmup routine is one 3min round with medium pace, then one 2min round with spurts (10 seconds medium pace, 10 seconds really fast pace or double unders), and then a 1min round with fast pace lifting my knees.

10 minutes is all you need, if you are an amatuer.. if you can't work do 10 minutes straight, work your way up to ten minutes with the rope moving fast. in the amateurs everything is based on speed and quickness. skipping rope develops your foot speed, cardiovascular and rythym. if you notice, all slick boxers can really skip rope..ex. mayweather. boxing is all about rythym. watch great boxers, they are making music in the boxing ring...
