I completed it. I've even bought the expansion pack called Shivering Isles, but never completed that. I haven't played it in months.

Chrono Trigger is CLASSIC!!! So much stuff to do in that game, diff endings, actions deciding endings, good characters, good villians, GREAT GAME.....with that said Final Fantasy 7 is simply the crown holder in my opinion, that game is past classic its just legend

Tactics is a classic for sure and one of my favs as well. I was glad they ported it to the PSP. Anyone play the FF Tactics advanced? Severely underrated IMO, I love it.

You could also get a shot gun wedding and sell your spouse into slavery, classic game. One of the best moments in gaming history was when your car gets stolen and your interrogating the only witness and you lay into him like a mad man, ****ing hilarious, so many good quotes from that game. This def deserves an honorable mention, both games were fantastic.

I forgot how, or what it was that made you have unlimited time underwater. It's quite sad that we used to spend 1-3 hours balling one boss. The FF8 in boss went on for 5 hours, I swear. :nonono:

NO! I loved that game, another one I forgot about. The boss was annoying but I leveled my guys max to beat him, I think to this date this was the first time I ever max leveled my guys to beat an RPG. They are gonna port it to the PSP with better graphics so I'm excited.

I never got into any RPG except for Wild Arms... It was goodand I don't know why I liked that and no others.

This is not a cheat... Just someone with to much time on their hands.

I bought the game 4 years after it came out and it was still 50 bucks, that tells you how good that game was. Another top quality RPG that I rate very high on the list.

I also forgot to mention Super Mario RPG for the SNES, I'll probably start playing it again after I beat Earthbound again.

Online game. If you like football/soccer then it has to be GI Soccer.

Yeah, fable was amazing. If it could have been just a bit bigger/longer it would have been my favorite rpg ever. Very rarely in my life did i finish a game and felt like starting again from the start right away.

I would say oblivion for the pc is the best rpg ever. I say for the pc because the pc version has a amazing modding community. With mods you can make the game the way you like it, new armors/weapons, races, quests, mounts, bosses, dungeons. There is even a mod that lets you chop peoples head/limbs off.


As for old school 2d rpg's, well people already named most of them. Chrono trigger, final fantasy 6, and of Course FF7.

But i am suprised not many people mentioned Secret of mana and Secret of evermore. Those 2 are amazing games. If you are a fan of 2d rpgs and never played them you owe it to yourself to get a snes emulator and both of these roms(you can find that easily, google is your friend.) to play it on your pc.

Utter nonsense! I have played RPG's since I was a child, I never got into any other games until the late 90's and I completely disagree. To say it doesn't count by default is like saying The Legend of Zelda doesn't count by default as greatest (or one of the greatest) fantasy action-adventure game ever made b/c it was popular at the time and most everyone has played it. Yes NES and SNES have made some great astonishing RPG's but no RPG did what FFVII did and that was make RPG's mainstream. Before FFVII rpg's were kind of a cult following in the US (of course in japan they were the most popular types of games), after this game people began asking are all rpg this good then they found out about the likes Chronotrigger, secrets of mana, the older ff games and so on.

It's perfectly conceivable and fair for people to rate FFVII at number 1 simply for what it did to the genre. Most people who played more than one rpg DO pick FFVII b/c it did what other rpg's couldn't and that's break through the cult like following wall into the households of those who have never played RPG's before.

WoW doesn't even come close b/c it's not even traditional RPG. It's more fantasy Adventure with rpg elements, having rpg elements doesn't mean it's an rpg.

WoW doesnt even compare to half the RPG's mentioned..and i wouldnt even call it a true RPG..
