This link provides THE best explanation for what the series is about, and predicts what will happen in Matrix Revolutions. No it's not the popular "matrix-within-a-matrix" scenario, this one is DAMN deep.

They can easily insert real humans into Zion/01 order to perpetuate the myth - even these inserted humans may not realise that they are within a machine population.
What other things can you think of?

They could easily be above the clouds in hover platforms, or they can be on other parts of the planet. The human batteries are probably a collective lie told to the machines.

I remeber the guy saying that the nuclear bombing could have caused enough electro magnetic interference to disrupt them tempoarily, where they could have been reprogramed. The whole war and darkening of the sky happens after this, which may have been fiction for the AI to realize how it got to the point it's at.

Did anyone notice in reloaded when the chancellor was talking to neo late at night. He expressed ignorance to the giant machines in Zion. Is it possible that those machines are energy sources for the human world? Could that be the reason why man is tricking the machines, so that they continue to work providing energy to mankind without realizing that they are still slaves?

These are characteristics, human characteristics that demand having a "soul", which if the theory is correct they can't have.

Very possible, notice that the Chancellor wears a BLUE robe, which in the symbolic context of the Matrix presents falsehood or a lie - also notice how his demeanor also seems almost favourable towards machines.
The color co-ordination between red and blue is so significant in the movie, and yet I never noticed it at all.

It's weird to think of all the things I noticed in the movies but dismissed so ready do to the fact it's just a movie and holywood always ****s **** up. Like the nuking of 01. I figured that the interference generated by a nuclear detonation would screw up machines but I mearly tossed it aside as I do with scientific facts that movies get wrong.
The Jake 10-09-2003, 11:57 PM My experience is that Hollywood all too often creates scientific inaccuracies in it's movies and writes it off that they chose to focus on the story itself and as a result, catered to the lowest common denominator.
I also believe that the article, however inspired and original it might be, gives Hollywood far FAR too much credit to create anything so indepth and universally consistent.
Look at the long lines for movies we have seen being churned out of Hollywood, particularly those spanning multiple episodes (sci-fi's in particular), and you will find a very very long list of inconsistencies. I mean plot holes large enough to drive a semi trailer through.
