View Full Version : Fastest fighters remix norma1250 05-12-2008, 01:08 AM I know that someone made this thread long time ago, but i'm asking again so, who do you think are the fastest fighters ever, and why? THE REED™ 05-12-2008, 01:22 AM roy jones jr pernell whitaker floyd mayweather jr. meldrick taylor robinson to name a few but holy **** is there more norma1250 05-12-2008, 05:02 AM Roy Jones Jr Muhammad Ali Sugar Ray Robinson Sugar Ray Leonard Pernell Whitaker Sugar Shane Mosley Floyd Mayweather Jr. Billy Conn Meldrick Taylor Willie Pep Sugarj 05-13-2008, 07:58 AM Dont forget Floyd Patterson, his left was synchronised faster than Ali's. Other speedsters are: Zab Judah Peak Naseem Hamed Peak Chris Eubank Oscar De La Hoya I'll have a think over lunch for some more. Oh and reasons why they were fast................part good genetics, part speed specific training and part plain hard training! mcentepede 05-19-2008, 11:08 AM Speed Limit =100 mph. Hector Camacho was once quoted as saying "You've just seen the 2 fastest fighters in boxing tonight" vs. Howard davis jr. in the 80's...He was right. Nobody was ever faster than these 2. Davis never won a pro title but beat Aaron Pryor 2 times in the amateurs and was outstanding fighter in 1976 Olympics, considered best American squad ever (Cuba was there). Others fast fighters after these 2 were: 1) Meldrick Taylor 2) Pernell Whittaker 3) Ed Hopson 4) Jorge Paez 5) Roy Jones 6) Mayweather 7) Yoriorkis Gamboa ----------- 05-19-2008, 04:41 PM Nikolai Valuev ----------- 05-19-2008, 04:42 PM Plus Samuel Peter or Matt Skelton BattlingNelson 05-19-2008, 04:58 PM I know that someone made this thread long time ago, but i'm asking again so, who do you think are the fastest fighters ever, and why? Difficult question. Boxing historian and fightfilm collector Jim Jacobs once analyzed the speed of Muhammad Ali to Ray Robinson. He watched film frame-by-frame and concluded that the jab of the heavyweight Ali was faster than the jab of welterweight Sugar Ray. mcentepede 05-20-2008, 12:53 PM Whatever...Camacho and Davis punched so fast and often, I doubt the punchStats could keep up by todays standards. Ray Leonard vs. Hagler in 1987...Leonard through about 800 punches in that fight...and he danced way more than he punched...proof that he was pretty fast with them flurries. I don't know where I'm going with this. Camacho and Davis were the fastest boxers up to this point. THE REED™ 05-20-2008, 12:55 PM Dont forget Floyd Patterson, his left was synchronised faster than Ali's. Other speedsters are: Zab Judah Peak Naseem Hamed Peak Chris Eubank Oscar De La Hoya I'll have a think over lunch for some more.
