Allison 07-08-2003, 05:11 PM Originally posted by AgonY^x0 ok well there all money hungry but the jews want more and more!!!!!! i need a Pro Bono, do u no if there any good? All attorneys are required to do a certain amount of pro bono work per year. AgonYx0 07-08-2003, 05:11 PM Originally posted by Nuno Or....maybe I was the only one who thought it was funny. ok i can imagine what you were thinking, but im talking about a lawyer, not start a game playing thread. Bluecifer 07-08-2003, 05:12 PM Originally posted by AgonY^x0 Ruffy, is it there job to charge $275 a ****ing hour?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!! I hate lawyers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mine is $350. Worth every penny too. He got my off the hook for violating my non-compete contract when my former company tried to sue my ass. They really had my balls in a salad shooter. And no, pro bono lawyers are the bottom of the barrel that can't get a job with a good firm because of inexperience or because no one will have them. Allison 07-08-2003, 05:13 PM Not true. No such thing as "a pro bono attorney". All attorneys do pro bono work. Even the high dollar ones have to. The bar requires it. Allison 07-08-2003, 05:15 PM If its for a family law case, and its a simple motion, the state will probably assign an attorney to you at no charge. The Mouse 07-08-2003, 05:17 PM http://www.wumc.za.net/abbott/128.jpg BRAINS!!!!!! Prince 07-08-2003, 05:17 PM my lawyer is about the same price as blue's and has gotten me out of several law suits. Allison 07-08-2003, 05:17 PM Also, unless you're actually going to litigate, having a "good" attorney wont really matter. The paralegal will be doing the work, and it will probably just consist of preparing and filing documents. Bluecifer 07-08-2003, 05:19 PM Delicious, savory brains mmmmmmmmm!!! Those guys are free(if you can't afford a good lawyer) and I hear they suck. Not really. Its all polital in getting people off criminal charges. The prosecuting and defending attornies sit down, joke about you, come to an agreement,(or not) then go out to lunch together. Alot of times, public defenders are new, but there are some who just think the work is gratifying, so they continue it for years. Depending on the charge, you could save yourself about 5,000.00 per felony and get the same outcome. It just depends on the seriousness. Allison 07-08-2003, 05:24 PM Everywhere. If its consists of something typical ( visitation, child support, custody), I would call them to ask. Its in their benefit to handle the cases and make a judgment because it saves the state money in the long run. Allison 07-08-2003, 05:26 PM Originally posted by Nuno So you have experience in this stuff? Some. I work in real estate law, know quite a bit of family and criminal defense. I'm in pre-law at Floida Coastal. If I dont know it, though, I can research it.
