The joke isn't funny anymore.
mgkirkpatrick 05-12-2008, 12:17 AM it might be funny when no one buys it?
Dick-Sucker 05-12-2008, 01:38 AM it might be funny when no one buys it?
No one will buy it. I will be suprised if it sells 4000 tickets.
Sunday Herald was brutal on it yesterday: Heading: "The Fight No One Wants To See".
Im a massive Mundine fan: and im not going to buy it. That tells you something.
mangler 05-12-2008, 01:42 AM Nobody gives a shit about this fight.
aussieboxer2320 05-12-2008, 01:50 AM mundine is such an attention seeker. he was in the paper saying he would never lose to a christian and then the paper just ripped into him. it was funny really.
they were talkin bout the build up and were going through all the dumb things mundine had said like:
the racism allegations
the switch (from footy to boxing)
the career threatening eye infection
hes very gifted athletically but has a poor chin (knockedout by sven ottke!!!!!!)and the only few times hes been put up against great fighters he has lost (kessler, ottke, siaca.........
Salty 05-12-2008, 02:02 AM He is a joke with no brain, heart or courage; the cunt needs to get his ass down that yellow brick road before his time is up or he will be noted as the biggest waste of talent in Australia.

That article was a bit retarded though. They were saying what hes going to do 4 weeks out from the fight. Yet hes fighting in 2 weeks.
Dick-Sucker 05-12-2008, 03:40 AM Would you guys pay $50 to see Mundine fight Sturm?

Would you guys pay $50 to see Mundine fight Sturm?
id watch it but probably not pay the full 50 myself

Im going to. Sturm is quality.
woftam 05-12-2008, 05:25 AM Wouldn't pay to see Mundine fight Soliman and probably wouldn't pay to see him fight Sturm either. Next one I pay for will be Cotto v Margarito I would imagine. Anything else coming up I'm not aware of guys?

I agree, I was going to buy Mosley vs Judah, but that's canned now.
woftam 05-12-2008, 06:32 AM I agree, I was going to buy Mosley vs Judah, but that's canned now.
Yeah that would have been worthwhile. Any particular reason it's not going ahead?
Anyone want to back Margarito?
Dick-Sucker 05-12-2008, 07:09 AM Yeah that would have been worthwhile. Any particular reason it's not going ahead?

Yeh i will back Margarito. When i have the points.

Bloody hell you been living in a cave the past week?, Judah "fell" in the shower and needed 50 stitches in his arm, but he sent in a picture, and it looks to most people as if he had been knifed (Judah is known to hang around with some shady characters).
mgkirkpatrick 05-12-2008, 09:14 AM cotto margarito is going to be a beauty. id fork for that.
SnoopySmurf 05-12-2008, 09:51 AM Mundine said he wouldn't lose to a Christian?
But....he has. By KO.

your a good man.
boxing_great 05-12-2008, 10:06 AM i think margarito could possibly beat cotto.he has a good chance, only because he 's much bigger
KESSLER 05-12-2008, 11:14 AM This fight is a ****ing disgrace.
I'd rather watch the pointless rematch between Mayweather and De La Hoya than watch this 3rd fight.

Actually yeah mate I was away for a while.
Oh and I usually only come to the Aussie forum.
Perhaps I better have a read in the flame threads hey?
woftam 05-13-2008, 04:04 AM Yeh i will back Margarito. When i have the points.
Save em up Ult.
Should be a great fight, but I think Cotto will outlast him.

Yeah, I've got Cotto.
Dick-Sucker 05-13-2008, 07:30 AM Marg will be to much for Cotto i think. Even though its an upset, i just have this feeling he will deliver big time.
Thinking his vicious punching on the inside gets the better of a cocky Cotto in the middle rounds.
I really can't wait for this fight though.

Against Gomez he was. If he tries thats stuff against Margarito, it won't work well.
Brunswick Assassin 05-13-2008, 09:22 PM Margaritos a helluva fighter who always comes to fight! The guy's never in a bad fight. He'll be too big and strong for Cotto to handle. Somebody's getting knocked out this fight!
Eshays! 05-14-2008, 05:36 AM Read in the Sunday Hearld (Mundines paper) either this week or last week that he coped a heavy knock and cant spar full contact for a week or two, Hahaha hopefully somone knocked him out ay

He got a minor cut on the top of his right eye lid. If thats what your talking about. Its minor though so his fight with Soliman can still go ahead.
Mundines chin is top notch man. If your knocking his sparring, you should also know he dropped Paul Briggs with a body shot a year or two back and that he has schooled absolutely everyone they put in front of him.
Anyway enough on this.
On Cotto vs Marg, Cotto is favourite. But i just got this feeling my man is going to win this one.
Greatwhitehope 05-15-2008, 10:59 AM i think soliman will win.

Looks like you've stopped smoking crack and moved onto something heavier.

I think I might win Lotto.
boxing_great 05-15-2008, 12:12 PM does anybody here wana bet points with me against Mundine winning?

Yeh i will put 10 K on Mundine winning. If Soliman wins i will give you 3 Million K.?

Explain his 5 losses? Cotto will win.
Dick-Sucker 05-16-2008, 04:14 AM Explain his 5 losses? Cotto will win.
Margarito isn't the same fighter he was when he lost all those times. Apart from Williams that was just a shitty performance.
But as you know Brently, fighters develop. And often the fighter is not the same fighter who was fighting early in there career.
woftam 05-16-2008, 06:22 AM Explain his 5 losses? Cotto will win.
I'm with you.
Cotto will be simply too classy for him IMO.
boxing_great 05-16-2008, 06:42 AM Yeh i will put 10 K on Mundine winning. If Soliman wins i will give you 3 Million K.?
hey u didn't understand this right.
Im betting that Mundine will win.
im asking if any1 wants to bet on that he loses.
Brunswick Assassin 05-16-2008, 11:23 PM Explain his 5 losses? Cotto will win.
Margarito towers over Cotto Brently! Mosley was a good match-up for Cotto. Maragrito's a different ball game altogether. Once Margarito starts finding his rythym I can see him stopping Cotto in the 10th by TKO.
That loss to Paul Williams was a close one and would have made Margarito a more hungrier and determined fighter. Cotto's a helluva fighter also and this has the hallmarks to be 'Fight of the Year' candidate.

10K on Cotto?
aussieboxer2320 05-17-2008, 04:58 AM Mundines chin is top notch man.
:ugh: what the.......dude........he got knocked out cold by that fearsome puncher, sven ottke lol, but seriosuly ottke is feather fisted and mundine was floored by a single right from ottke, i wouldnt call that a good chin
aussieboxer2320 05-17-2008, 05:00 AM oh and btw, ill bet anyone all my points on a cotto victory (no specific outcome besides cotto winning) over marg, anyone?

Kessler landed some big bombs on him. Danny Green landed a few less but still some solid shots.
I wouldn't worry a second about Mundines chin. Im more focused on him developing his combinations.
Still i can't see anyone but Arthur Abraham beating him at MW. Pavlik lacks skill. Mundines lateral movement will have him confused.
Macho Madness 05-17-2008, 07:41 AM even though im not a fan of the fights mundine picks, i hav so much respect for any world class fighter in smw, it in the top 2 hardest divisions easily, so im sure he would excell alot in mw
woftam 05-17-2008, 08:03 AM 10K on Cotto?
We will clean up I think ;)
Brunswick Assassin 05-18-2008, 01:02 AM 10K on Cotto?
You're 'ON' Dude! 10K on Tijuana Tornado to beat Cotto.

Kessler didn't land anything real serious on Mundine, due to his back injury in that fight.
Mundine didn't get hit with shit from Danny the Robot Green.
a big ? for Mundines chin.
just looked at the odds for KO in favour of mundine 3 to 1. Decision in favour of mundine 2 to 1. i think the 3 to 1 knock out are very good odds but i have a feeling that he might just carry soliman this time and not know him out.what you guys think.

Put 300 on Points.
150 On TKO
Bettting on that ratio will cover you if he wins on points.
Can bet 30 on points. And 15 on TKO.

awesome mate green k for you!
BennyST 05-28-2008, 08:05 AM Does anyone know how it's going? Has Mundine won yet? Was, or is, it boring?
More importantly, did Soliman put up any type of fight that was worthy of him taking this fight and Mundine for giving it?
Let me guess? After he wins, he's going to call Green back out of retirement for a rematch as well....:nonono:
I've lost all hope of Mundine ever winning a half decent fight against a half decent opponent.
Flawless 05-28-2008, 10:23 AM Mundine retains WBA title
May 28, 2008 ANTHONY Mundine has retained his World Boxing Association super middleweight title by beating Sam Soliman in a unanimous points decision at Vodafone Arena.
Mundine won 116-112, 116-112, 117-112 in a pulsating encounter in Melbourne.
Soliman began the better and won the second and third rounds, but Mundine gradually wore the Victorian down and started landing the heavier blows the longer the fight lasted.
By the sixth round Soliman was clearly tiring and Mundine, through some punishing jabs, was on top.
But Soliman roared back into the contest late in the ninth round with a burst starting with a left hook that got the crowd calling in his favour.
He continued that comeback to the final round, and both fighters were confident they had won.
AAP
seen the fight. was surprised sam took a few shots. defensively mundine was pretty good. but his attack was shithouse. his was gunshy. i thought that he was just gona use sam as a sparrin partner for attack, but he didnt even do that. after this performance, he doesnt have a good chance of beating pavilk or Arabham.
Oh and is it just me, but it looked like mundine slowed down a bit. idk.

He's getting older now, so that's what will happen. He's past his best days.
Brunswick Assassin 05-29-2008, 12:50 AM Another BS fight, another BS decision and a BS belt on the line pretty much sums up this fight. Mundine thought he was sparring and threw the jab to keep Soliman at bay when Sam started getting throwing combos.
Soliman got the wobbles bad just off a Mundine jab. And got rocked later on again off a Mundine shot. What does that tell you? You sure have have to watch these kinds of fights pissed as a 'fart' and have a good laugh.
Soliman had to hurt/drop Mundine bad in the championship rounds. This is the only way Mundine will hold onto his paper machie title with BS decisions like this.
He's been calling out every fighter under the sun for the last 5 years and has only fought Kessler and refuses him a rematch tells you a lot about his coyones. See him kissing Freeman's ass in change-rooms after bagging her recently. Cathy should have slapped him in the face when Mundine went to hug her then storm off on live tv! That would have been friggen awesome!:owned:
Never fight in or set foot in Melbourne either Choc!
