i know a lot of americans worship this guy,but i wouldnt put him in my top 20!!

a lots made of the multi weight champion thing and dont get me wrong im a fan, but for me the hype outweighs the man he didnt impress me at LHW(tarver,johnson etc)and the heavyweight thing was a joke

he roided up to take on a (just above average) heavyweight and yes he clearly won but it was one guy!

at SMW and MW he is undoubtedly great,a great modern day fighter but an all time p4p great,naahhhh

hmm, ill have to disagree there, he has beaten some great fighters, first in 100 years to become middleweight then heavyweight champ.......awesome physical attributes, weak chin yes, but solid in every other category.........id say he has a place with some of the greats, not as good as ray robinson or leonard duran etc....but definetley up there, one of the the best of his generation

IMO Jones is a ATG.




1. He beat Hopkins with ease and Hopkins had MORE fights than Jones.
2. He moved up to SMW and easily beat Toney who was 44-0.
3. He was ahead on the scorecards and about to stop Griffin when he was DQ'd. He then KTFO Griffin in 1 round.
4. Jones won 7 world titles at 4 weights, moving from middle to heavy and back down to LHW.

Nunn was SMW champion from 92-94, Jones was champ from 94-96, Benn was lost his belt to Malinga. So he should have fought Michalczewski and Lilles. Im not sure what other great fighters Jones didnt fight.

yeah and jones is fast and strong. Roy jones also was robbed out of a gold medal at the olympics in 1988.

good read,i get what your saying,but im afraid when it comes to jones i cannot be converted,

maybe im a bit old fashioned but when u study boxing history and compare what those guys did,his achievements pale in comparison,i respect his talent and im not discrediting him or you,but some people think hes the best thing since sliced bread

What do you mean by ATG? He was definitely an ATG SMW, and in my opinion an ATG LHW. Maybe not an ATG p4p, but hes up there.
