I posted a vid of me on the bag a few days ago however i had little room, this time i cleared a little more space from myself, i still have the wall behind me though but ive got more space, my jabs ands rights look a little better and more contorled with better technique as i worked on what you guys told me,

this is a vid of me patheticaly skipping, thought id post it for a laugh as the dog keeps getting in my way, then i keeps hitting plant pot, and then my trousers keep falling down, i usally skip alot better i can usally go for a about 1 min tops without the rope hitting my feet, do you guys know how ican improve this, aslo from what you can see of me skipping is there anyting im doing rong ect.......bit of pathectic vid but hey its a vid so id thought id post it.

train with bigger gloves!! I hate seeing people train with small as$ gloves that are even smaller than the gloves you fight in. Why? So you can look better while trainin? Id rather look better in the ring.

I train with 20oz gloves a lot. Its better to train in big gloves. I see videos all the time of people training with little gloves, bad idea.

also you still turn your hooks palm down, really try and keep em palm in, its a more natural angle. speed looks good, as for the skipping ..... keep on that hard, its such a necessary skill for anyone who wants to box, helps footspeed and movement and cardio.

From what I can see it would appear that you aren't concentrating on what you are doing. This is very apparent in the skipping video. You are making so many mistakes that it is hardly worth mentioning them and it is obvious that you will perform better in a different set of circumstances. To go anywhere in boxing you have to eliminate the distractions and stay focused on the task at hand.

It depends which way you have been taught i started off throwing hooks with my palm in, but then we got a new trainer who would only let you throw them palm down, there is no wrong way.

"...there is no wrong way." This is an expression I have heard from young boxers many times. Most often it is used to justify and rationalize the technical flaws in their style. Boxing is a very style oriented sport, but there is no reason other than belligerence to do anything in an improper fashion.

Throwing the lefthook (or righthook) is no different than throwing any other punch, there is a natural rotation of the wrist as the hand moves forward. Forcing the punch into a particular attitude or movement pattern is inefficient and incorrect. It will have a natural trajectory depending on where it started from and where the target resides. A hook aimed at Nickolai Valuev's chin will have a different trajectory and therefore a different movement pattern than a short hook aimed at Manny Pacquiao's liver. How the punch evolves depends on the situation, but within that situation there is a right way and wrong way of doing it.

That was my boys house. We came back from a party. That's type old, but everyone was hyping me to hit the bag so I just did that.

That bag was heavy tho.. I think 80Lbs.

Number one, do bagwork in the gym with an instructor who will teach you how to do it properly and number 2 get that dog on a leash you *****hole. Is it some kind of qualio tradition to spam this board with absolute bollocks? If I see one more silly vid I will kill myself! Why don't people go to a gym and learn how to box like normal people.

In all honestly, why does everyone feel the need to post these bag workouts?

It's been my experience that about 75% of the people who look good on a bag, even boxing gym members, get into the ring and are total ****. So what does that tell you about the ones who look **** on a bag in their basement and backyard?

It's not about how hard or how fast, meh. A bag is as mentioned in here is a workout. Also maybe to get comfortable throwing punches in bunches. Like padwork should be for. Maybe to work on that left hook, that combo etc...Not to beat the fookin **** out of it so ya can post it on youtube and hopefully people will say "AWESOME!" lol

Posting your spars I understand, so long as you are willing to accept the criticism from the place you are posting it. I mean, even Shawn has the right idea when posting as an approach to learning and atleast opening up debate. It is just too bad his self-image lives in some kinda freaky parallel universe to the reality of his skill and then all hell breaks loose.

I got vids, fight vids, spar vids, pad word vids, heavy bag vids but I`m not going to post them because I am not looking for acceptance from a bunch of people I don`t know. I did that once and got very good feedback and actually feel silly about it now. Am just a kid myself, but taking boxing very seriously. I`m looking to learn, and I take my coaches (a national coach) criticisms as gospel, and use those vids to see what I am doing wrong, to correct those things...not what I do right and to show that off.

I think, not all, but some of you need to realize this. Quit making these things as some kinda weener measuring contest if you even remotely want to get better, and start making or posting them to learn. This requires knowing you got faults, probably lots of them. We ALL do.

Bahh, I dunno. I still like watching them, but not likely for the reasons you think, or hoped. It does feed the trolls tho, so if that is what ya go for...mission accomplished.

For the few humble ones who do post and look for critique, this lil wind up rant was not pointed at you, and I do hope you get what you are looking for from it.
