THE REED™ 05-07-2008, 07:52 PM that is excellent math sir.. !! Shawn 05-07-2008, 07:53 PM that is excellent math sir.. Yeah, I had to use a calculator. BrooklynBomber 05-07-2008, 09:38 PM You plan on participating in some am tournamet, or are you just trying to show off your six pack here? !! Shawn 05-07-2008, 09:54 PM You plan on participating in some am tournamet, or are you just trying to show off your six pack here? Nah, I can't fit out my door if I don't weight 141lb exactly... THAULTIMATE 05-07-2008, 10:54 PM i figured you had to weigh 141 because its 141 days until your birthday. I had no clue it was because you were fighting that you had to get to 141 on a boxing forum, no clue whatsoever. !! I had no clue it was because you were fighting that you had to get to 141 on a boxing forum, no clue whatsoever. That made absolutely no sense at all. Thanks for your contribution. I am 5'10'' tall aussieboxer2320 05-08-2008, 04:25 AM cutting weight aint worth it man, fight at your natural weight if possible but seeing as its onnly a pound just go for a few runs , dont eat heaps and maybe cut out water but then agen its only a pound so u should make the 141 lbs class Pork Chop 05-08-2008, 12:36 PM cutting weight aint worth it man, fight at your natural weight if possible but seeing as its onnly a pound just go for a few runs , dont eat heaps and maybe cut out water but then agen its only a pound so u should make the 141 lbs class smartest post I've seen today and a point i think needs to be made more often in fightsports. In the UFC you see guys cutting 30 pounds for a fight (ala rich franklin) and gassing after a round or two. Left2body 05-08-2008, 12:52 PM It depends is that a dry or wet 142.2? Was that on a certified scale? If your eating regular (healthy of course leading up to competition) and your still hydrated (meaning you having stopped or severelly cut down your water intake recently) then you'll be good and can possibly compete at 135lbs. Losing 5% body or your body weight isn't really that hard and is pretty safe and easy to rehydrate from. 1 good workout with multiple layers or a sauna should do it. However if your already dried out and I mean dried out then that 1.2 is going to be hard to lose or when you rehydrate your going to feel significantly weaker. Not regular strenght but that explosive pop strength. I wrestled in HS and College so making weight was always a concern. THE REED™ 05-08-2008, 12:52 PM i could take a **** and lose 1.2 pounds Fidayin 05-08-2008, 02:57 PM This is me at 154 pounds. Just mentioning Landon S 05-08-2008, 04:24 PM ooh he thinks hes hot **** and hss an 8 pack. dude alot of ppl have a ghost of an 8 pack but dont actually, if you did theyd all pop and there would be no second guessing. A six pack doesnt make a boxer. Landon S 05-08-2008, 04:41 PM and pull up your pants lol rj_ct 05-08-2008, 05:25 PM word, i was 142.4 after working out today. i'm about 145 right now with a full belly. i fight on the 16th, so i should be able to make it. a lot of people are against dropping down in weight for the ams, but when you weigh 147 or 148 and are fighting guys who come down in weight to make 152... i'd definitely say it's worth it. it's 6 minutes of actual fighting. i'm not saying it's legit to starve and dehydrate yourself, especially since you weigh in only a few hours before you fight. but there is definitely a right way to go about dropping weight. jberg 05-08-2008, 05:33 PM tbh this was not a thread about advice, this was let me show you how big my ego is !! Shawn 05-08-2008, 06:11 PM The point of this thread was to let everyone know "Hey! I am not another one of you keyboard jockeys, I actually do all the ****ing work I talk about." This thread has nothing to do with ego. I made this because of D1ACATUS' thread on bull**** fights and fighters. I am not some keyboard jockey. I am an actual fighter, who actually trains, and actually works his ass of to make weight like everyone other fighter on the planet. On another note, it really is no that hard to get a six pack. The impressive thing is shredded obliques. !! Shawn 05-08-2008, 06:13 PM It depends is that a dry or wet 142.2? Was that on a certified scale? Not regular strenght but that explosive pop strength. I wrestled in HS and College so making weight was always a concern. That was a wet 142.2 at the doctors office. I don't dry out to make weight. I make weight for real. If I am fighting at 141, I am going to be walking around at 141 wet. I could possibly dry out to 135lb, if I go on a diet I could probably make 135lb naturally, but I am comfortable at 141lb. rj_ct 05-08-2008, 07:08 PM as far as i know there is no 135 weight class. unless they allow you to fight at 132 if you weigh 135. i'm not really sure how much over you're allowed to be. i think for tournaments you need to weigh exactly whatever the weight limit is (or less).
