I got in from school and thought i would test my new caera out, went into my garage and went on the bag for 1 min which i havent used in ages,

i wasnt tired or anything like that so i wont come up with excuses, but i was very limted for room and i had clutter all over the floor and all my shots are bent arm shots , im 6'2 and ive recently turned 16 , so i usally jab and move and keep distance which is what im good at, but on this i had no room so im throwing hooks ect which i need to improve,
i can alredy see i shud throw a lil higher, mabey push hands up a bit,
you see alot from a video of your self,, in this vid you may notice i do unnsecairy head movment or shots, i dunno.. but i was trying just pack in stuff in 1 min usally i would usally just and tire myself out, or practice techniqe

personally i wasnt happy with this video of me,

please post comments and help....thank you

o yeah i added the music to make it a bit more intresting

not bad

the one thing i would critique is that you measure to much with your jab

if i were sparring with someone who measured like that i would throw an over hand right and also when you measure with your jab you can see that your right hand will soon follow (telegraphing)

so I would suggest you work on not measuring with your jab and just throw it.

regardless you got some decent speed

keep it up:boxing:

you stated it yourself... actually makes me look forward to your next vid now... not often some one can realize afterwards...

You do look like you'd have a good jab..and FAST HANDS on the good side though.

I quite liked what I saw, you've got naturally fast hands. Its difficult to assess your power because the room was cluttered and the bag is not exactly heavy. Also its hard to work on any defensive shortcomings when bags dont hit back but I liked how you kept your elbow quite high when you left hook.

I'm sure you have talent so keep training, whether its for your fitness or a little more!

i think with a little hard work and dedication, and a full membership at a boxing gym.. u can become a very successful amatuer boxer. your young enough , and based on this video, skilled enough.. u remind me of me a little when i started... i was good on a heavybag, hand fast hands and power.. just had to move to the next level and join a gym and train more serious and start sparring.. good luck u will be great man, just stay dedicated to the sport.

and my one piece of advice is: it looks like u dont know how to throw ur hook, either with ur palm down or palm faced in... towards your body..

try to throw hooks with ur palm facing in..

good luck

i think a lot of it is wat i would call body shots. i mean it wouldnt hit the head of a guy the same height as you. also, between jab, put your left hand back near your face. you have a tendency to hover, which wont help you block shots.

In view of the situation I'd say you were doing alright. You made a number of mistakes, many of which have already been mentioned. However, these mistakes might have a lot to do with the situation, garage, camera etc. One thing anybody who knows boxing can see is that you obviously have potential. The question is, how will you develop your talent and will you make good use of it?

At your age, and with your natural ability, you can easily develop a set of boxing instincts if you put your mind to it. The older you get the more difficult it becomes. Put yourself on a program of discipled training, a clean lifestyle and keep your mind on what you need to do be successful. If you have the motivation you can go a long way in boxing.

Regarding the hooks ..... it should definately be palms in, other than that, and bringing your left back to guard after throwing the jab .... not bad at all for your 1st year. Someone mentioned measuring the jab and telegraphing the right hand ... that will change with experience, try a double or even triple jab, perhaps switching to downstairs, then overhand right, the more you mix it up the less you will telegraph ... keep up the good work mate
