Hopkins-DLH was a mediocre fight.
DLH-Mayorga was an entertaining beatdown.
DLH-Chavez I had some value as Chavez were merely past his prime and not shot IMO, and in his ideal weight class, but the rematch was more entertaining.
DLH-Trinidad was a mediocre fight, very dissapointing.
DLH-Gatti was an entertaining beatdown.
DLH-Mosley I was a very entertaining fight. The rematch was alright.
DLH-Vargas was an excellent fight. A rare case where the fight lived up to the hype and maybe even the PPV price.
DLH-Carr was fairly entertaining, as was the fight with Coley.. DLH looked very good against Gonzalez and Ruelas, I'd say those are worth watching.

Pretty much was Thread Stealer though, except if you like watching the a tactical battle. I really liked watching Hopkins De La Hoya. Hopkins pretty much made DLH fall into his plan towards the end.
My least favorite out of all of those would be Mosley 2 and then my favorite would be the vargas fight.
chrismart83 05-04-2008, 08:43 AM Thanks guys, think il download a few of those fights later.
Cheers.

I highly recommend DLH vs Mayorga, I can watch this fight over and over again. Be sure to watch the countdown too.
I thought his fight with Hopkins was boring. His fights with Chavez were great. The fight against Trinidad was more or less a boxing lesson. His fights with Mosley were entertaining in the same way Pavlik-Taylor II was entertaining, you'd have to appreciate it. I haven't seen the Gatti fight, but the Vargas fight was pretty good as well. I liked George Foreman as a commentator for that fight even though he seemed to favor DLH.
MANGLER 05-05-2008, 09:11 PM I might end up watchin the Trinidad fight at my amigo's house as one of our drunk Cinco de Mayo fights tonight. Heaven't seen it for a while but i know it was decent until DLH quit fightin and ****ed himself outta his 0.
ferocity 05-07-2008, 11:55 PM If you want to see KO's, just look at Delahoya's young boxing career. Guy was ko'ing fighters left and right.
RJS III 05-09-2008, 10:04 PM Oscar De La Hoya's February 13, 1999 bout against Ike Quartey was a very good fight. The Golden Boy and Bazooka both exhibited great power, speed, skills, and heart in the fight. De La Hoya received the split decision victory, but I thought that the decision could have just as easily been given to Quartey.
Emon723 05-29-2008, 11:12 AM dela hoya-Quartey is my favorite, if there's someone who really put oscar on the seat of his pants in a legitimate knockdown, its Ike, most say dela hoya took a dive against hopkins and the early knockdowns in his young career were a result of being overconfident and getting careless. I still feel quartey was robbed of victory.
elmillon 06-24-2008, 04:57 PM You should definitely download De La Hoya Vs. Quartey very good fight with both fighters trading knockdowns and going toe to toe.
ABOSWORTH 06-24-2008, 06:59 PM Hopkins-DLH was a mediocre fight.

The resemblance in your sig between Vitali and the T100 is striking! :lol1:
This is a pretty good summarization of the fights, I haven't even seen all of them though.
I thought the Hopkins fight was good but I was drinking it up pretty heavily on that fight night so my opinion might be skewed.
Dan... 06-24-2008, 08:39 PM De La Hoya - Vargas is without a doubt Oscar's most entertaining fight IMO. The first Mosley fight is alright as well.

Hopkins-It was an awful mock chess match which ended with DLH going down on a less than television friendly left to the body.
Mayorga-Technical mismatch, Mayorga had no business in the same ring with DLH. Its rumored that upon arriving at the arena he was seen smoking a cigarette.
Chavez I and II, both were washouts for the younger DLH. He cut and disfigured Chavez in the first fight and made Chavez say no mas in the rematch. The second was good because they both slugged it out on the inside.
Trinidad-An abortion of a fight after the 9th. DLH took Trinidad to school then gave the fight away by running for the last three rounds. Anticlimactic at best.
Mosley I, excellent fight fought mostly at close quarters. Mosley's right hand kept DLH's left hook at home and that was the difference.
Mosley II was fought at a much slower pace.
Gatti-Well, Gatti never had a chance and it showed. Gatti did manage to get to DLH a few times in the fight, which was more success than he had with Mayweather.
Vargas, this was the most entertaining fight of DLH's career. What an excellent KO.
PED User 06-25-2008, 04:50 AM Quartey-De La Hoya was an intense, suspenseful chess match but rather low on action besides the 6th and 12th.
The first Mosley and Vargas fight make for better replay value because it had good action as well as suspense (which you lose when you know the result).
warp1432 06-25-2008, 04:55 AM I might be one of the only people who enjoyed Hopkins-De La Hoya

I just watched it again. It was alright.
DLH did better than I thought even if I didn't give him many rounds.
Silencers 06-25-2008, 05:34 AM Hopkins - Better than the average Hopkins fight but not very entertaining.
Mayorga - Entertaining, but one sided.
Chavez - First fight was one sided, the second one was as well but not as much as the first fight but it wasn't a bad fight.
Trinidad - An OK fight, a huge letdown considering the buildup but it was alright for the first 9 rounds.
Mosley - The first fight had sustained action throughout fought on a high skill level from both. The second fight wasn't as good as the first, fought at a slower pace and more tactical.
Gatti - One sided, better than Mayweather-Gatti.
Vargas - Very exciting, intense fight because you could feel the bad blood between the two.
I think the best fights on this list are clearly DLH vs Mosley 1 and DLH vs Vargas.
