german2208 05-03-2008, 12:19 PM i am 6'2 and weigh about 176lbs been doing sports all my life jus starting boxing for fun like a year ago, but now i decided to fight for once jsu for the expierience. right now i started to go running 2-3 times a week for about 30mins not sprinting but a decent spped. then i got to the gym for boxing at the club i train at 3 times a week where we spar about 1-2 times a week. the boxing workout is always like 2 hours long. so makes it i either go running to do a boxing workout from mon-friday. tournament i would fight in is 3 weeks away. i used to smoke a blunt or so on the weekends occasionally but will stop until after my fight for the remaining time. kbpoetree 05-03-2008, 12:45 PM i am 6'2 and weigh about 176lbs been doing sports all my life jus do not stop the blunt smoking..i tried that and it actually made my conditioning worse..i felt like ****..lol...seriously tho..i know its my body getten rid of the ****..but **** it sucked..lol...my coach said to start smoken again...so i did...long as u still train and do all the right stuff...its not harmfull jberg 05-03-2008, 12:45 PM ok let me tell you something. if you have a history of smoking, you have to decide whether to quit that or boxing. there is no way you can succeed in boxing if you smoke weed, even if its just once on the weekends per week. it sounds like you have decent fitness, carry on training, talk to your coaches. some people fight after 5 months, some after a year or two. it really depends jberg 05-03-2008, 12:46 PM ok me and tree just posted at the same time two contradicting views. kick the weed if you can, it is harmful tree, so saying it isnt is simply misinforming. kbpoetree 05-03-2008, 12:47 PM ok let me tell you something. if you have a history of my boxing and i smoke everyday kbpoetree 05-03-2008, 12:49 PM ok me and tree just posted at the same time two contradicting views. kick the weed if you can, it is harmful tree, so saying it isnt is simply misinforming. its all good tho my man....just sayin at 15 years old...even tho u think u know all the answers u really dont yet...not doggen ya...just staten....one should not smoke u right..but it isnt as harmfull as our government makes it out to b..the most harm it does is take money away from the gov..so they dont like it jberg 05-03-2008, 12:54 PM this is true, but i have smoked weed before a few times, never consistantly, and i know people who do regularly and still play sport. all im saying is its better not to, and that people who do will never be able to fight seriously german2208 05-03-2008, 01:26 PM im not trying to be a world champ lol like i said im jus boxing for fun, the coach told me i should really get in the ring cus i i have a good chance to becoming good or wutever..it is fun for me. but im not trying to be a world champ, i jus do it to stay in shape and cus its pretty fun and good for yourself and self esteem. i jus dont want to loose either wen im fightin in 3 weeks lol and as long as i can box thru those 4 rounds stamina wize i think ill be alright. so thats why i asked how long it will take to get in good shape to stand thru the 4 2min rounds the way i am working out at the moment minus the smoke on the weekend. i know its better to not smoke at all to reach the highest level at any sport. but the point was not to reach the highest level beein a World champion the point is to beable to fight thru 4 rounds of 2min and not beeing ****ed up after 2 rounds conditioning wize. jberg 05-03-2008, 01:42 PM ok fair enough, but stamina comes easier when you dont smoke. ill leave it with you, but all ill say is youll vastly improve if you dont, and i dont think its right to advocate the use of it kbpoetree 05-03-2008, 03:21 u def correct on what u sayen..it is easier to stay winded without the smoking..simply cause most people are smoken blunts wich the shells have tobacco still if one can smoke mainly and just outta a water bong..that is the ultimate most healthy way 2do it...if u boxing just for fun..than keep on if u want to get super serious and in your head u think the smokin is messen with u..than absolutley stop like all things its a mind game with yourself...and jberg its easier if u do it everyday like most things your body gets used to it and the affects arnt near as critical as an every once and a while smoker..but i tried given u karma gotta spread more b4 i can jberg 05-03-2008, 04:11 PM haha thanks, i didnt want to slate your pot smoking, i just take my boxing quite seriously |
