Which team do you support? I go for the Titans.
I reckon the Grand Final will be Titans vs Storm at the moment.
And I feel sorry for the Rabbitohs 0 wins and 7 losses.

Don't feel sorry for the Rabbits, Russell will save the day.
Tigers grew up watching them, didn't have any choice in the matter. I can walk to the oval these days.

woftam 05-01-2008, 09:45 PM Go the storm.
Bout time Billy got the National full back gig.
To all folk north of Albury who think expanding the game in Victoria is pointless, think again. I follow the Storm more religously than Collingwood these days. Took the missus to her first match @ Olympic park late last year and she loved it. There is an ever increasing amount of Storm guernseys out on the streets now so things are looking up growth wise in Melbourne. The new stadium should also bring a few more in.
Biggus Dickus 05-01-2008, 10:13 PM Tigers fan here.
I was born in Balmain hospital and was at the 89 grand final as a youngster, ****ing John Ferguson broke my heart that day.
mgkirkpatrick 05-02-2008, 12:04 AM geez sounds like there's a whole litter of cats in here.
bronco man through and through.
one of the worst rosters in the comp but we'll do it for wayne this year
boxing_great 05-02-2008, 01:42 AM its funny how these aussie members come out from nowhere and post in this section who i have never seen before but they have been on here for ages.where do they normally post?
as for the 89 grand final, that goes down as 1 of the best of all time.

Who are you referring to? Everyone in this thread posts in the Aussie forum regularly.

Yeah well I guess you pricks can add Israel Folau for 2009 to that crap roster.
You still have Hodges, Hunt, Thaiday. Carrol & Lockyer.
The roster falls away after that admittedly.

ive got real issues with them forking out for folau.. our outside backs are probably our strongest area. i mean shit a backline with lockyer, hunt and hodges (not to mention the comps leading try scorer darius boyd) and the club thinks **** it we'll blow the budget on another.
by some ****ing forwards.. admittedly our smaller mobile pack has been going well (ive got alot of respect for parker, thaiday, sims etc) but come finals time you need some grunt in your engine room.
ah well as long as qld wins state of origin again

i really like greg eastwood

same. if he gets some consistency in his game i think he'll be a good long term replacement for carrol at lock
Who are you guys going for in State of Origon? I'm going for Queensland.
And I think there might be a change that Scott Prince may play if Lockyer can't play.
huricn 05-11-2008, 06:58 PM NSW. cant stand those QLD fans
huricn 05-11-2008, 10:18 PM and some scumbag has caught me in the tipping comp aswell. still 1 game to go tonight, so who did u pick Mr scumbag:boxing:
mgkirkpatrick 05-12-2008, 12:22 AM haha.. i tipped the storm..
was a hard call to make with 8 backing up from the test match and newcastle actually looking ok.
but **** it no one wins in melbourne?
who'd u go?

Ya gotta admit mate - he's more than handy under a high ball either in attack or defense. The prick can carry 3 or 4 guys over the try line with him too. The worrying thing for opposition clubs is he's still young and still growing.
mgkirkpatrick 05-12-2008, 09:20 AM yeah brilliant player. no argument there. the meninga comparisons might be a little early but i wouldnt bet against them. im not sure how much he cost but i dont imagine he came cheap.. and with a salary cap where every dollar counts its hard to raitonalise buying a centre when you've already got hodges

To be perfectly honest I would think every club in both NRL & AFL are rorting the salary cap in some way shape or form. Fitting some player under the salary cap is probably a matter of finding a way to hide the money trail. I know in AFL some clubs were giving players land as part of the deal. As the property values went up so did the value of the deal done. It's all coming out now because one player who is about to retire is taking his former club to court for non payment of land and other underhanded gifts that formed part of his deal with them.
lol. all u people are supporting the wrong teams. EELS gona win the comp. bank your house on it!!!!!!!!!
Greatwhitehope 05-13-2008, 12:45 PM Seen the origin teams? Hunt at 5 8 for QLD is an absolute farce, it should be Prince 7 Thurstan 6, as for NSW Anasta must feel a bit hard done by and to me origin just isn't origin without Nathan Hindmarsh.
Nice to see Fitzgibbon back, even though he only pipped out other forwards because he can kick a goal or 2

yea, cant believe hindmasrsh didnt make the team. its pretty bullshit. and fuken cooper got centre as well. eric grothe jr should have got the position for the wing. really glad horneby made the squad, really under rated player. he should be half back for the blues. two of the most under rated players in the comp are eric grothe jr and ben hornby. can't believe peter wallance got the no. 7. should have been orford, hornby or even finch.
so glad they didnt put prince in the team. lol. nsw have better chance of winning now.

mate Eric growth is so unsafe, he got the same problems amos roberts does, they hav the most potential but some how there still inconsistant, ur right bout hornby but but wallace has been playin well
woftam 05-14-2008, 08:45 AM They need someone who can jump with Falou.
Queensland will be putting up the bomb his way all night I reckon.
Macho Madness 05-14-2008, 09:04 AM yeh u would be ****in crazy not 2, thats why i recon amos roberts or sum1 along those lines wuld b great in there if they were safe lol
Dick-Sucker 05-14-2008, 09:08 AM They need someone who can jump with Falou.
Queensland will be putting up the bomb his way all not I reckon.
We got Hazem for that all 5 foot 3 of him.
Dick-Sucker 05-14-2008, 09:09 AM Fck Origin is shit.
How does Karmichael Hunt make five eighth?
How does Bird play five eighth? Anasta should be there.
Both these teams haven't put there best side on the park because of "politics". Its a fkn tragedy.
mgkirkpatrick 05-14-2008, 09:42 AM very tough call on prince.. i guess the way the game's going.. five eighths getting bigger and leaving the 7 as the only dominant ball player.
i really feel for prince but i dont think hunt will let us down.

If i was Prince i would have retired from rep football immediately. Announce a press conference. That should shove it up them.
Karmichael lol? Please. You have to agree hes not half the player Prince is.

karmichael is a big match player and as reliable as anyone in the comp. he's not as good in the havles as prince..
id have had prince start at five eight and had hunt on the interchange.. he's a better utility than pj marsh as he can fill a spot in the back row if need be.
with a backline that already has thurston, hodges, inglis and folau..
hunt can play his game without having to try anything he's uncomfortable with.
prince should have been picked but karmichael has done the job in the past and will let no one down. mark my words.
mgkirkpatrick 05-14-2008, 09:55 AM at the end of the day.. qld could make about 10 different halves pairings better than the nsw one.
whitewash anyone?

i bet ya 4k that qld wont win by whitewash.
mgkirkpatrick 05-14-2008, 10:42 AM aw.. it's tempting.. ill have a think about it.. i think we will but anything can happen.. like last year when we were down to fifteen men within 20 minutes of game 3 starting
boxing_great 05-14-2008, 10:58 AM how the hell can hunt be 5/8. can he even pass a good ball??
how can u throw a fullback into a 5/8 position.
Chocoholic 05-14-2008, 12:13 PM how the hell can hunt be 5/8. can he even pass a good ball??
how can u throw a fullback into a 5/8 position.Hunt has excellent hands, i have seen him play 5/8 a few times and he is a natural ball player.
If Locky wasnt in the Broncos he'd be a natural choice for 5/8
You asked how can you throw a fullback into a 5/8 position...well Locky is your answer
Hunt will become a great 5/8 in years to come
Chocoholic 05-14-2008, 12:14 PM at the end of the day.. qld could make about 10 different halves pairings better than the nsw one.
whitewash anyone?what a superb backline they have behind a good forward pack.
Im thinking whitewash aswell ;)
mgkirkpatrick 05-14-2008, 12:22 PM definitely a possibility. id like to have seen costigan make the side. be interested to see how hannant goes.
good times ahead for qld fans.
and you're completely right about hunt.. he stands at 5/8 for alot of brisbanes backlines moves and certainly has adequete ball playing abilities.. with cameron smith kicking alot out of dummy half.. im confident as hell.

He doesnt have the speed at fullback to sustain it over the long haul but he has great hands.
Origin 1 might not be his home coming but he will be talked about in time
mgkirkpatrick 05-14-2008, 12:31 PM even if you cant tip for shit i think you're right on this one. either 5/8 or a ball playing lock
