What happened?

Funny enough, I was at the gym with his old trainer the other week and asked what happend.
He told me from what I can remember, damaged his nose, and had surgery on it or something.
He got hit on the nose during sparring, and it bled profusely, and not sure if he fully recovered from it or if its the mental side that has stopped him from getting back into boxing.

Damm i had a similar experience. It can be really daunting. Especially when it doesn't stop.

He was talented.

Hi Jason Arena here , I still have 3 more exciting fights to get up on youtube when some1 can do it for me . Just read the blog i was informed by a mate .
Yes it was my nose and also a few niggling injuries that caused me to pull the pin for a while , shin splints from pronating feet , knuckles swelling , corterzone injects in my knuckles .
My last fight , Rollies had an accurate knuckle for my nose and really ****ed it up inside . Immediate surgery was required and a mixture of impatience , bad luck and a mutha****a so called up himself ear nose and throat specialist operated on me. He should have referred me to a sports specialist surgeon , but no ,,, $$$ hungry. He put ****ing hard cartlilage at the base to protrude my nose so i could breath when all i needed was to have my septum drained and thinned and the sinuses narrowed.
8 weeks after surgery when i got hit soft in sparring it felt like my face was being torn apart and i was 3 weeks away from fighting for the OZ title. I needed time off and another surgery to remove all the bone & time for it to heal another set back. But no , some management misunderstandings and some private things ill keep zipped .
There are rumours that i couldnt handle the training at Tszyus Academy . Thats Bullshit , hahahhahaha . I got off on it . Yeah Kostya pushed me but no where as hard as Igor did , we were as motivated and open minded to improve . And the partying , i didnt give up boxing for that, though hell yeah as soon as i hanged up the gloves i gave it a good run in Colombia hahahahahah, but soon discovered it aint my style to disrespect your body , causes depression and you lose confidence.
There was a mis-understanding at the AIS for the preparation for my OZ title fight and Kostyas Prep for the Sharmba Mitchell II fight , though Igor knows i was never afraid to be pushed beyond what was a so called limitation.
I never broke , my heart got broken not my spirit. i know the difference from a injury pain and a improvement pain , its my body.
We always improved our strategy. I looked after my Strength and Power & Fitness through out my short careeer with extensive experimenting and research and learning , and Igor taught & coached my boxing skills , form , timing , distance , the art of cutting off the ring , pressuring your opponent and to push past Barriers and much more.
Also new exercises that Kostya would teach me and correction of technique he would show me & Igor, Training the Brain he called it with the kettlebell pushing past when you usually stop in agony, the Russian system. I only trust in Igor in Australia as my coach , zero Bullshit factor , straight shooter , great calibration in understanding your emotion and state of mind , great coach and friend , great in the corner , gets the best out of you. So over 4 years our strategy was working fantastic improving everyday trying new things. When i informed the management it was impossible to fight with the condition my nose was in , they didnt understand and i wont go into detail. Lets just say they were great and the sponsors were and boxing wouldnt have happened if not for them.
So after that , i have no financial backing to train full time so i decided to become a devoted traveller and continue to train with weights and conditioning 5 days a week , where ever im at im in a gym , mostly Thailand and Brazil (women). There is the unbiased truth .
Still im confident ill wip every1 in my weight class now , looking better than my last 2 fights . Im still improving even though i havnt been in the ring in 4 years. Boxing is finished for me . Its embarrassing to watch the australian boxing now . makes me want to get back in when i look at it now. So i avoid watching boxing , its a disease , you always want to get back in there . LOL .
Oh and as for tying up , that is what me and Igor specialised in . When a fighter fights me its almost impossible to hug me or tying me up . They Panic , even in sparring ill wear em out and there heart rate would be close to 200 all the time because im always in your face cutting off the ring punching an opening and they can not run or hug me . Pressure Pressure PRESSURE aaaarrrrggggghhhhh they feel .Im always right in punching distance, hahahahha , loved it .This causes pressure and panic in my opponents . in all my fights youll be lucky to see the referee say break at all . Compared to the lazy boxers fighters today in OZ , poor referee has to say break on average 15 times a round , pathetic , why dont they just get it over with and get it on and kiss . The crowd gets frustrated & Its boring to watch . Tying up is lazy , not a skill if you are moving forward and pressure fighter like Kostya , Tyson , Hatton , Marquez , Pacman etc.
And those body shots Igor & myself have plenty of exercises that got them so painful to cop. Thanks again guys much appreciated for the post .
