Huge game tonight as Rangers host Italian side Fiorentina at Ibrox. To say Rangers will have an understrength side would be a massive understatement. Goalkeeper Allan McGregor whose inspiring form has seen him linked with a move to Spurs is still missing after picking up an injury in last week's ill-tempered Old Firm clash while Kevin Thomson and club captain Barry Ferguson sit out after picking up bookings in the last round. Every player who occupies a wide position - Lee McCulloch, Chris Burke, Steven Naismith, Charlie Adam and DeMarcus Beasley - is missing which means striker Nacho Novo will go wide left with right back Steven Whittaker going to right midfield.

A victory for Rangers tonight would give them a boost ahead of the final Old Firm game of the season this coming Sunday but, more importantly, it would be a massive step towards their first European final in 36 years.

I am not in the least bit confident of getting a result tonight but I hope my fellow Brits will tune in and join me in wishing the team all the best in the game tonight (Laddie and Rocky K get a pass as they are Celtic fans).

So, all that remains to be said is good luck Rangers, get intae them!

Not a virtuoso performance but we are very much in the tie and can put out a more familiar starting eleven next week. Not sure my nerves will handle it.

No injuries today but the game went as you would expect - Fiorentina having a lot of the ball with Rangers sitting back. Neither team really created any clear cut chances.

After watching how the teams played tonight I am cautiously optimistic about getting a result next week with Ferguson and Thomson back in the team.

We're not lucky we're just good ;).

Not sure about Sunday it will be a close game. I don't think either team is playing well so it will probably be a draw or another 2-1 victory to someone. How do you see it going?

I think well beat use :lol1: as i said to you last time i believe celtic have the better players, the last game we should have been 2-1 up when nakas shot was goal bound but your defender turned it over with his hand and we missed the penalty then mcgregor wasted 5 minutes and use sat back after that, but we managed to score the winner, i honestly believe well beat use good this sunday:banana:
