Marciano TKO9.

He would win on stamina and body shots. Marciano hit as hard as Sanders and was a helluva better boxer and had much better stamina then the 38 yr old fat man

Actually with the height disparity Vitali would find it pretty hard to land cleanly on marciano, who in his prime was not a bad bobber and weaver. . . .

Marciano was not only short but used this as an advantage by ducking real low for most of the fight, so unless VK has been training his technique with punching below his waist then I don't think he'd land very much...

Marciano would crouch-lunge in real close and pummel VK's ribcage. Being so close and so low would be absolutely terrible for VK's leverage on his punches and he doesn't move quick enough latterally or backwards to avoid this from happening.

On top of this, Marciano crafted a custom heavy bag that weighed 300 lbs... his theory was that if he could move the bag with his punches he could move a large body with them as well, keeping a lot of fighters off-balance.

Due to sheer size disadvantage I wouldn't say it was a guarantee but I would put my money of Marciano in this one... 100 punches a round is more than VK has seen in an entire fight I'm sure. Guys that size tire much faster than the most well conditioned boxer (maybe even athlete) of all time.

This is terrible, why would you guys even compare these two fighters? In my mind, Rocky, in terms of pound for pound punching power, and skills, is head and shoulders (not literally) above just about every current heavyweight. That being said, I think the size difference would be too much. The mere fact that Rocky would have to be on the inside to fight his fight, where VK could lean on him and push him around would take a terrible toll on any fighter that much lighter than VK, it would be an ugly fight, maybe like a ruiz fight, and if they fought today, it would be stopped in the late rounds, not because the rock was hurt, but because he wouldn't be able to make any headway with VK, and would be getting roughed up. If they fought in the rock's era, it would go the distance, and it would be anyone's guess as to who would get the decision.

VK is too big and too strong for Rocky or anyone else from that era. Next thing I will hear is that Bill Russel would have been able to handle shak defensively.

Primo Carnera was bigger and stronger then Klitschko and his strength only took him so far-and unlike Klitschko Primo could fight on the inside and throw a mean uppercut!!!!!!!!!!!! You Klitschko fans are going to have to come up with something more then 'he is too big and strong' b/c they were many HWs of Klitschkos size and strength back then they just didn't make it to the top b/c in the deep field of the time there were plenty of smaller guys who could outlast and outbox the frankensteins . . . . plus people talke like a guy who weighs 190 can't KO a guy who's 245-you people obviously have not boxed before. A 190 lber in top condition (which would be over 200 lbs when not training) can be strong enough and can hit hard enough to beat any man. Especially compared to someone like Klitschko who doesn't even get proper leverage on his punches . . . .

Boxing today is a whole different ball game than it was in Rocky's time. Klitschko would have him down in the late rounds.

Back in the days when Rocky fought championship fights were 15 rounds, because of that, and the incredible dedication to training that Rocky had, i know he's got more stamina than V.K. i've also heard guys that fought the Rock say he was a lot harder to hit than he looks, a smaller guy like him makes a much smaller target. unquestionably the rock had more determination than Big K, because Marciano had more determination than any fighter that ever lived - everything was against him, and he always overcame. Also i don't think V.K's size would be too much of a problem for Rocky - he's an inside fighter anyway, and would most likely position himself against K's chest and pummel his body with power punches. Also, Rocky fought a 6'4" hw named Carmine Vingo, in what was supposed to be a test for him, and he put Vingo into a coma that lasted 3 days... and when he woke up his boxing career was over.

I am a huge marciano fan, but i think that VK's size, smarts, power, and chin would be too much for the brockton blockbuster to handle. I'm not saying for sure who would win cuz you never know, but wouldn't you think it would be a good fight if a more intelligent jess willard fought marciano. same thing as fighting vitali.

Training methods are more advanced now, so regardless of who is better technicaly, Vit has a better chance on training methods alone. My personal opinion is that people evlove and learn from past mistakes. Just because someone was good back then does not nessacarily mean that they would be good now.

I would take Marciano. Vitali would beat him for the first 3-4 rounds, but then Marciano would come back and cut Vitali's eye. I see Marciano winning by TKO or decision, Rocky probably wouldn't be able to ten-count him because Vitali has a strong chin.

dont see how rockys crouch and lunge style would work agaisnt vitali when the tallest person he has fought was 6'0 tall. he even had trouble then, even if u think vitali has bad stamina, you have to make him work in order for it to be a factor, vitali just has to lean back and rocky cant hit him, and with todays rules the ref would probally stop it between rounds cause of punishment, even though rocky could probally take it

if marciano was fighting now he would be considered a light heavyweight, Klitschko is like 70-80 heavier than marciano ever weighed...

This question is not a fair to Rocky, and almost disrespectful.

Heavyweights were generally smaller in his era.

Ever put your hand on a kids head and hold him back while he throws punches?

This is a complete mismatch...
you want to compare Rocky to one of today's best, compare him to Toney, or Brewster.
Brewster should be a great fight!

Rocky's arms were too short and he was only 5'11. Plus he was only 187 pounds in his prime. VK would destroy him in 5.

is this a 15 round fight?

there is now way that vk would be able to follow vk`s pace, vk aint have enough power to ko marciano, on the othe rhand it would be hard fore marciano to reach vk.

dont know who would win but it would probably be on points.
