HOC will be closed Saturday, therefore we're kickin the weekly get together up to Friday night, rather than Saturday morning. You all are invited to come train, come kick it at my house afterwards & watch movies, and then maybe get intoxicated and play monopoly. Good times.

Added bonus on Friday: I wasn't going to say anything, but it looks as if Oleg Taktarov is going to start giving lessons down at HOC on Friday nights, and this week is tentatively scheduled as the first night he will be offering these lessons. I hear he's got about 5-10 guys he brings down to roll with him, one of whom I have not seen in 3 years & will be reuniting with for the first time in that entire span. It's going to be a great night.

Got leglocked this last Saturday, and my knee has been tender since (next time I will tap, I promise), so I've been taking it easy... goin to 24 hr fitness instead of the academy, doin my conditioning routines, doin my reps and drills at home, etc. I've noticed a significant improvement in my abdominal tone since I started really workin the sprawl drills. I think I've figured out Jensen's secret.

So like... yeah, ****s.... BE THERE ON FRIDAY. Anyone who misses the chance to train with the Sambo god is a fruitcake.

lol.. sprawl drills really do work. Full standing then drop all the way down and make your hip hit the ground, then pop back up. Over, and over again.. fast for atleast three rounds. Yea.. thats the ****.

I have to wear a cup when I do them because my balls smack the mat with relentless fury. And they ****in hurt. 15 minutes of Sprawl drills sounds sick. I will try and hit that many next time I'm drillin.

Any pointers?

The first thing that hits the mat should be your hip, either the right side or the left. ****ing hit it hard into the mat too. When guys have shot in on me in the past, because of hard sprawl drills I am able to slightly injur them with the sprawl alone.. and u might even be able to smack them down on their stomach because of it. If u haveto take breaks inbetween sprawls, run in place before u do your next dive. It should hurt your hip when u hit hard, it shows you're doing it the right way. No matter how much your hip hurts, the guy you sprawl ontop of will feel that much pain plus 10 times as more.. giving you the oposition in the fight.

So I should be going down laterally (flat on my stomach) and trying to smack my hips first? Or I should be turning to the side slightly to hit one of my hips down first before the other?

never go down on both your hips, Never!!.. have someone sprawl ontop of you with all of their weight comming down on ONE hip ontop of you. It ****ing hurts and thats the ****ing idea. Two hips feels like the guy is ****ing you, with all of his weight on one hip comming down it feels like he's rammin a knife through your back. Pick a hip, one side, and smack it down on the mat with the side of your hip. You're not tryin to **** the guy, its a fight and he hasto feel some ****ed up pain; so let all of your weight come down on only ONE hip first.

What's the correct way to fall on it? I've been doing sprawl drills in this way:

1) Shoot legs back, hands forward and down
2) Knee slides onto mat about a millisecond before impact on both hips
3) Pop back up pushup style

That's as best as I can word it on 4 hours of sleep and 2 cups of tea.

lol, i dunno the correct way.. I'd always **** myself up in training because I would literally try and hit all of my weight on my hip first. Yea you're gunna get ****ed up, lol, but you're opponents moans and cry's will show that it all payed off.

ghost, try not to get into the habbit of poppin back up push up style.

when you sprawl push your way back tward your feet creating distance between you and your opponent or else you can be getting up into yet another shot or a strike.
