I am young and poorly educated.

Could somebody name all the muscles in the arm for me?

What is the muscle between the bicep and the tricep?

I have seemingly damaged it and I am not sure whether or not that will limit the power of my punch?

I am not sure how I damaged it but it hurts and I get pins and needles and shit.

How do you repair painful muscles and are they sometimes irrepairable?

DOCTOR!!!!!! At least if you suspect there may be some damage, definitely check it out with a doctor.

is it agonising, or just a bit of pain, because it may just be muscle tear; either way see a doctor, better safe than sorry

Just a bit of pain.

Only really when I move it though.

I have been told that rest is the best.

First of all, how do you know it's damaged and not just worked? After a work out your muscles hurt abit, they're not really damaged. If that's the case, just rest, maybe rub on some heat rub which can soften the pain (strong smell, personally I like the smell but I wouldn't want to walk around and smell like it).

If it's a real injury, then I wouldn't perform too many punches until it's been fixed because when the arm is extended and retracted it puts it under tension. So I guess it would damage your power because it'd become zero. Of course, this aside, punches start from the ground, not your arm, your arm is a coil, the finishing touch to the punch as it were, not the punch itself.

How would the power in my arms suddenly become zero?

How would the power in my arms suddenly become zero?

Are you talking about after exercising or just in general?

I mean due to an injury, like I have now.

That is what he insinuated.

Unless I completely mis-read his post, which would be excusable as it is not far off 3.00am here and I am dog tired!

Aah didn't even see that, I think he's talking about if you pull or tear a muscle then your arm can't transfer the power properly. That's all I could figure.

Yeah, unfortunately most athletes don't want to hear that but in the vast majority of cases involving an injured muscle the best fix is simply to rest it.

One thing you should learn now, You'll never lose your power, at least not until your about 50. So what you got, it what you'll always have. Just rest it dude. Probabley nothing major. Its probabley something most of us feel everday while we box. Sometiems you just have to get used to the pain. I mean it is boxing.

there is no muscle between the bicep and tricep! if its on the outside of the arm you have found the outer head of the tricep muscle.
thats not really improtant though!

if your muscles hurt REST THEM they can heal very quickly but once you damage one its very easy to make it worse.

Yeah, it is the outside of the arm sir.

It still hurts slightly actually.

On both sides weirdly enough.

Even after a few days.
