Thought I'd put a thread here so the Brits can discuss. Joe has to win Saturday, cant stand that cunt Hopkins.

We're all supporting you Joe :boxing:

I really hope he pulls it off so we can wind up those cunts to make up for the Hatton debacle.

Calzaghe has already won, the fight is just to confirm this.

since this fight was announced I've taken it as a given that Joe is gonna win, but then i saw yesterdays press conference, he's got that same 'oh shit' look that hatton had right before the mayweather fight.

I'm getting less and less confident/ Hope of a Calzaghe win... the more and more he irritates me.

I don't know if I even want the Geezer to win. I guess I do want him to win as apparently I'm a quarter Welsh? (as if that means **** all.)

For;
. Rip the piss out of the yanks.
. Retains some UK credibility.
. They already think he's English.
. Seal a British fighters "Legacy"

Against:
. Frank Warren won't stop chatting shit about his "Business model" (No risk) and how great Joe is and how Hatton should be more like him.
. They've chatted so much bollocks, and "hillarious" quips. Going to knock Hopkins out? LOL
. "Appear" to lack preparation; Sparring issues , don't watch tapes, game plan lacking or revealed. Totally Overconfident.
. Enzo Camp bum bandits will be in full force.

hmmmmmmmmm.

I want Calzone to win of cause. But I don't think for a second there is any bad blood between Hopkins and Calzone.

I wish Calzone had a little better charisma... he lacks zing in his comebacks and trash talking. Perhaps if was better at talking, he's have more money than Hatton.

Maybe he should spend some more time down the battle cruiser eating sausage and peas and playing darts than shagging sheep to help develop his charisma.

Mickey, no if he had more balls than Hatton to try and take it to the next level sooner he'd have more money possible.

Calzone likes the swift half now and again, i've seen photos with him having a couple of drinks.

I guess you're right about if Calzone would have risked more...however...Joe's career was bound to last longer than Ricks. Look and differential styles! Hattons career was never going to be long with the amount of punishment he takes. Calzaghe has always had time to burn, unlike Hatton.

As much as I try defend him Calzaghe has to a certain degree hid away from big fights. As a world title holder you wanna fight in the US and go against the biggest names. He has never done that and it cant all be blamed on Warren. Popular fighters have left Warren before to pursue the big fights and Calzaghe hasnt been motivated to do that.

As we get closer to fight night I feel less confident in Joe's chances against Hopkins.

true to an extent, but super middle has been a limited division for SERIOUS competition, the only real threats at that weight to joe where kessler and lacy, and he dominated them big time.

he should have moved up long before now.

I feel the same as you. I think Joe is a great fighter but let's face it he has never really tested himself against the real best. he should of broke away from Warren years ago. I know the super middleweight divison aint been upto scratch of years but he could of stepped down a devision or up one. I will never class him as a true great cos of the way he has defended his title against average fighters. sorry for the rant but I DO HOPE he WINS tomorrow.

Against Eubank, Reid, Kessler and Lacy he was a joy to watch. Those were my favourite fights.

He is one of the best British fighters of all time. How many British fighters can say that they have been a World Champion for five years, let alone ten?

Does anyone know of any good internet links/streams for tomorrow's big fight?

If so, please private message me.

Thank you.

even though joe won tonight I'm very disappointed. he didn't fight a great enough fight to silence any critics with regards to him moving to American soil. the decision could have also gone either way and i wouldn't have argued it.

very poor performance and his victory tonight is nothing to be proud of, he looked surprised himself when he won.

I just hope he doesn't waste anyones time by fighting RJJ next.
