Can hyperventilation cause permenant brain damage?
|
View Full Version : Bizarre, random question somebody asked me earlier today hardmanbrit 04-13-2008, 11:15 AM Can hyperventilation cause permenant brain damage? jberg 04-13-2008, 11:19 AM nope it may temporarily impair your thinking because oxygen is not getting to your brain, but essentially effects are temporary (ie. light-headedness) hardmanbrit 04-13-2008, 11:20 AM Thank you very much, sir. hardmanbrit 04-13-2008, 12:55 PM I believe hyperventilation occurs when somebody is stressed out. Is this correct? JayCoe 04-13-2008, 02:14 PM I think you need about 3 minutes, if not more, without oxygen before you stand a chance of contracting lasting brain damage. Hyperventilation is, of course, nowhere near this. You still get oxygen, just less of it. hardmanbrit 04-21-2008, 02:21 PM thanks man i will tell them thanks so much hardmanbrit 07-06-2008, 02:08 PM I find this forum to be the most helpful forum on the whole of the internet. vBulletin® v3.7.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
