Sturm doesn't hit hard, so that is something in his favour. But he has decent boxing ability.

Very hard to win in Germany.

If it's in Germany Pittman will need a KO to draw! German judges/officials etc tarnish Boxing's image with BS decisions they hand out for their fighters.

Im not even sure the KO can get him the draw.

Hope he wins though.

Pittman's flown under the radar and is a darkhorse against Sturm. The guy has a World Title shot with nothing to lose, anything can happen! Hope the guy can bring home a World Title.

OMG, how much did you guys no of Pittman?. I saw his record and got to ask the question, "How on Earth did he get a title shot?". Looks way to inexperienced. Hope he can bounce back. Not the seen the fight, but by all accounts he took a pasting.

its what happens when an aussie tries to step it up against world class opposition.

by the sounds of it he took the opening round on his jab alone but sturm realised he had no power and spent the next six rounds walking through pittman. he didnt have the experience.. but even if he did i think he's gonna get blasted out of the water.. it's a hard task being successful in the pros with no power

Im not to sure who is training him, but his punching technique is amateur.

He doesn't move his hips or swivel much when he throws a punch. In fact in the 1st round he threw a punch when both feet where in the air.

Aussie boxing needs to completely rebuild itself if it wants to stand anychance on the world scene which i cant see it doing any time soon and would take at least 5 years to have a couple of fighters that can not only win but defend reguarly against top opposition.

Sure you will always have those fighters that come around everyonce so often ie: Paul Briggs,Jeff Fenech that thrive on alot of heart and can mingle with the best even without the best techniques and the aussie immigrant's like Tszyu and Dasrchinyan who have been schooled well in a excellent amatuer background in their homeland.

In my view its time to cut ties with all the bike gangs that are getting their money laundering tactics going at these shows and have a invested stake in the Aussie World Titles and promotion, fighters contracts. its time for mainevent and fox to cut ties with any of these products that are reguarlly shown on fox sports and occasionally on Mainevent a few years back.
Theres nothing worse than sitting on a shithouse world feed with the Bob Sheridan putting over Alex Vella Mick, Gatto and other criminals in commentary.

The scene needs to go like the Aussie Kickboxing Muay Thai scene was QLD 10years ago in which records dont really matter and these guys are getting put up in excellent fights win, lose or draw they learn and comeback a better fighter and gain a heap of experience passing that on to the next generation in which in 10years the sport has elvolved from nothing to producing world class Muay Thai Exports

Why was he rushed into this fight?. Was he even the mandatory or was it a voluntary. His matchmaker needs shooting. Had they ever even seen Sturm fight? His record looked like a thai fighter one.

Pittman isn't a Middleweight. He should be fighting at Junior Middle or even Welterweight. Pittman got some nice jabs and combos going in the early stages but anytime Sturm wasn't to turn up the heat he done it easily.

Pittman clashed heads with Sturm which caused his eye to bust up with Sturm then using his jab to close up Pittman's which disadvantaged him.

With a little bit more seasoning Pittman can be something! The guy fought for a World Title in Germany in only his 16th fight and the experience would have done him good. So expect him to be better off for his next Title shot. He's a southpaw too.

from what i understand he was offered the fight and thought the shot was too good to refuse. obviously he wasnt ready for it.

of course hed be nuts not to take the fight. in fact he probably earned himself a future title shot by proving to be a decent fighter with a lack of power. someone will choose him for an easy optional defense after he wins 5 or 6 straight against limited competition
