I have to say, for now formal training your start is not bad. Go more full on and don't stop after every 3 hits. No need to push the bag also, just hit it brother and keep the hands up.
/you can turn on the light, people are not going to laugh at you
vv15629 03-26-2008, 10:24 PM haha nah the lights were on it just recorded dark for some reason
punchDrUnK MONK 03-26-2008, 10:28 PM ya like buddy said. go more full out, throw more punches, u gotta get tired on the heavybag, throw more jabs, its the most important punch in boxing.
and ya dont stop the bag from swinging, ur spose to work off of it. give what it offers you. for example, if the left hooks there take it. work on one-two's and combinations. good luck.
This video is hilarious because it's better then half of the videos posted where ******s are like "OMG I taped this **** as a joke and it's at the end and I just got done sparring superman so LOL DON'T MAKE FUN OF ME"..
other then that, your footwork blows.
Good job.
TravelinMan 03-26-2008, 11:25 PM how is that good? lol
2swell k-wells 03-27-2008, 12:44 AM i cant see you
kenny91 03-27-2008, 05:39 AM movements great and the footwork is great but u need more consistency in ya punches try and go 3 minutes on timer without pausing ( cos thats wat u'll do in a fight anyways )
kbpoetree 03-27-2008, 08:17 AM best thing i could tell ya...and i have my vid in here also...few threads down...is it seems u jabben with all arm...use more hips in it and really snap the **** outta it..your middle finger and fore finger should b turnded toward the ground at the end of the jab
kenny91 03-27-2008, 09:43 AM yeah kbpoetree has hit the nail on the head there. but aswell as hips etc use ur shoulder a bit more with the hooks and uppercuts kinda just pop ur shoulder and throw ur weight into it with a twist at the hips. i seen a vid of david haye or hatton or someone say that exact thing.
don't get me wrong im not critcisin cos uve got some good attributes there particularly footwork and u seem to have natural power so if u took in kbpoetree's point u'll have a pretty nasty punch on ya.
but i can see some great potential in ya ! all u need is to look at what u've got and work on it with the advice u receive from this thread.
any chance of uploading another vid sometime?
vv15629 03-27-2008, 12:01 PM cool thanks, yeh im a try and get some more vids up. From a personal stand point i seem to have the most trouble trying to snap my jab. Im just very inconsistent with them, i can feel when i get a good one off though.
Yh just keep your hands up and let the bag swing. I used to have trouble with my jab as well lol i think most people do but keep working on it an you will get better.
kenny91 03-28-2008, 08:50 AM a lil cliche for ya lol - practice makes perfect.
just use the constructive criticism and practice practice practice dont worry too much about makin yaself fit into a weight class or wat not - just forget fightin for a bit and practice snapping ya jab.
But i tell u wat - i know i said it already. but dude u got an awesome amount of great potential. Keep up informed on mroe vids please matey?
cheers ;)
lukeybg 03-29-2008, 06:06 AM are people on this thread for real??? Movements good??? footworks good??? it was awful.
He was good for someone whos had no formal training because movement and footwork doesnt really come natural. The main thing i noticed that was wrong was when you threw the very few big shots you did throw you were over reaching which leaves you open to gettin KO'ed.
your speed was alright tho.
Get yourself to a gym you could be a good amateur!!

Okay, you're a natural athlete, I'll try to help you hit harder and faster.
First off, never punch twice with the same hand at your level. Ever...You hit harder, (each arm sets the opposite arm up) and faster when you use both arms. But there are certain punches that set up the second punch to have more power and speed...good examples that you should try, are...
Jab to body, thrust upwards with cross upstairs
Left hook upstairs, cross upstairs (this one works either way) (allan green's best combination right here)
a good three punch combination to perfect is a jab, cross, and jab...or jab, cross, left hook, but in amateurs straight punches are best.
If you really like hitting with the same hand here's something to master:
Jab, left hook to head or body, then cross.
jab, left hook to head.
work it out
vv15629 04-01-2008, 05:39 PM good feedback
The Future 04-02-2008, 04:56 AM you need to throw more punches and with more force........and bring your punches back up to protect your head.....cause your way to open.
also when your throwing hooks have your elbow higher....again to protect your head...
dont stop the bag from swaying...learn to move and punch the bag also time the bag
and your footwork is very bad.....if your not at a boxing gym i would suggest going to one....or get a dvd instructional that focuses on footwork.
and yo can punch twice with the same hand.......double and triple jabs and double left hooks( 1 to the body, 1 to the head work great in close)
you should be jabbing way way more than your other punches at you level.

How about some concrete criticism of the guy. Comments like yours aint exactly gonna help him.
woodzzr 04-03-2008, 11:31 AM i agree with the previous few posts, get that entry jab more soild and throw a decent punch when backing off, not a gentle little tap. Also dont expect to be ali or sugar as a few of our posters believe they are.
rufige 04-03-2008, 11:38 AM if your going to do a double jab don't get lazy with it. bring the second jab right back to your face then fire it off again. what your doing with your second jab won't do nothing for you.

yeah you were perfect when you started right.
