View Full Version : Scariest Boxers!!
Hearnsz 03-26-2008, 10:55 AM Who is in your opinion the scariest person in the history of boxing.
I don't know that many boxers myself but going from look I'd have to say:
Thomas Hearns: Skinny, tall, hard hitter... (and he's got a wicked face!)
From attitude probably:
Mike Tyson: I'm not very keen on people who tend to **** one another until that certain ****** loves him.
Fight style:
Jack Johnson: Maybe the fact that the footage is old and in black and white contributes to this though. But I've also heard he really gets it off at punishing people in the ring; Holding them up when they actually want to fall down and laughing at them while fighting.
PS: Don't call me a ***** cause I'm saying certain boxers are 'scary', it doesn't mean I get scared when I see them :S... It just means they are badasses.

Joe Louis doesn't look particularly intimidating but apparently he was to many of his opponents because of the way he handled business without any emotions.

BetterthanSugar 03-27-2008, 11:32 AM The new q and a is the most scary fighter of alltime. without a question jack dempsey. the most aggresive fighter of his time by far not scared fof anyone or anything. even past his prime when being outboxed by gene tunney the 2nd time he still never quit and when tuneey stoped running like cory spinks he was floored. no man ever went toe to toe with dempsey. people tried like firpo but none ever took his heart he never ran always came forward and threw bombs. his only ko loss was very early in his carrer and he ko'd all the top fighters out there in his prime aswell as giving out the worst beating in boxing history. winning the belt by taking jess willard apart and knocking out 13 of his teeth in round 1. many have come close to being that scary( a young forman, tyson, tua, hearns, trindad, and now valreo) but nobody else i know can say they knocked out that many teeth in a hole life let alone one round

Hearnsz 03-28-2008, 07:23 AM Back when I was 8 or something I saw this documentary about some world Heavyweight champ who lost to Clay near the end of his carreer. I'm guessing it was Sonny Liston. They also said he was involved in the Mafia and barely had any fans durin his carreer... Is this true? Or is this about some other boxer?

Many boxers have probably done much worse things than Tyson has done though.
Sonny Liston to name one, he was part of the mafia.

The only crime I can think of that is worse than rape is murder and as far as I know Sonny was never accused of either rape or murder. The worst it can be said of Sonny was he beat people up at the behest of the local Teamsters: Mob related yes; murderer or rapist no.

The sad thing with rape is that it basically does take the victims life, as we or they would know it, away. Rape is without a doubt the worst crime committable after plain murder and child abuse etc.
As you said, Tyson being committed of rape is ten times worse than any beating Sonny may have given at the behest of the mob.
PED User 04-27-2008, 05:02 AM The biography on Sonny Liston said he was a rapist as well. I remember reading it in the bookstore, but for some reason when I bought it later from another place, that section was left out.
That book was a little disappointing though. The writer gave like a 2-page description on the size of Liston's manhood. I always highly question (doubt) the author's claim that Archie Moore threw his fight with Rocky Marciano.
Jo-ell Scott was a real piece of ****. He raped and beat to death a retarded woman that he knew. Jake LaMotta was a rapist piece of **** as well.
But back to the subject of scariest boxers, I thought Ron Lyle was one ugly intimidating looking guy.

I would guess it was false information. I wouldn't be though if Liston did do something more than just beat up a few guys for the mob...
Moore certainly did not throw his fight with Marciano, here's a pic of him after the fight.

Ron Lyle was another former convict turned boxer. He spent over 7 years in prison for second degree murder.

Hearnsz 05-01-2008, 06:40 PM Yea Ron Lyle is probably a much worse criminal than Tyson though. And imo Ron Lyle looks a bit scaryer too. But atleast he doesn't threaten his opponents by telling them he's going to eat their kids. :D
On a sidenote: what is second degree manslaughter? Does it mean he killed more than one human or that he intenionally killed someone? Or something else?

Several things...
Personally, I would say that Tyson was a "worse criminal" than Lyle because Tyson boasted about mugging 80 year old women for money. Lyle never bragged on beating up an old woman. To me, that means a lot. Lyle's crime was worse (someone died) but the other guy he fought at least had a chance.
Also, Manslaughter, as I understand it, is more like the "heat of the moment thing" rather than a planned out murder. Two guys get in a fight, one guy beats the other one so bad that he dies. Manslaughter. On the other hand, two guys plan on robbing and shooting someone to get rid of witnesses. Murder.
As for Lyle, he was accused of killing someone in a gang fight, which got him sent to Colorado State Prison. Later on, when he got out, he was accused of killing someone else, but was found "Not Guilty."
Here's a link about him that is a good summary of him....
