View Full Version : A little lesson on respect

let's first define it:
as far as i am concerned, respect is treating others how you want to be treated.

it was a lesson we all learned as children. some of us picked it up quick while others had to take a few more ass-beatings from our parents.
now some of us never had to really have this lesson shoved down our throats because our common reasoning told us, "if i don't want to be treated like ****.....isn't it kinda hypocritical to treat other people like ****???"

now respect, in my opinion, is the #1 characteristic that a person can have if he/she wants to get anywhere in life. and i'm not just talking about success in the outside world....i'm also talking about success WITHIN yourself.

when we started this board we had something that our "other" site didn't and that was a common respect for eachother. we were still able to discuss mma, discuss other ****, post whore, goof around, and even rip on eachother without ever crossing a line because we all had that common respect. for the most part, we still do.
but as of lately it seems to me that people are starting to fly off the handle a little bit and some people are even getting a little testy and trying to compare our mods/admins to the likes of the l.a.p.d. and then are deciding to push the "rules" that never even NEEDED to be firmly established from the beginning.
i'm not sure what ever incinuated this. i doubt anything specific ever did because i know that i never received any pm's about us being unfair.

so i'm gonna keep this pretty simple on where we're going to stand:
from now on, there are no RULES. use common sense. it's not too ****ing hard. you've been using it before you ever even learned to walk, read, or write.
show respect and treat people how you want to be treated. don't act like a ****in child even if you DO have the benefit of hiding behind your computer screen.

and here's my respectful guarantee:
if you act like an adult then you get treated like one. act like a child and then get treated like one.
so don't ****in cry when you get banned and it seemed unfair. don't cry when you don't get allowed back on either. just understand that it's nothing personal, we just don't want kiddie dumb****s running around on here, actin like ****in retards, and giving decent people a reason to never come back- therefore making the "dip****/normal person" ratio a LOT higher than need be.

to those who think they fall under the dip**** catagory: NO this is not aimed at you in particular so don't assume it to be. you're obviously not too bad cause you're still here. just please understand that a mod/admin's goal is to help this site and help promote mma, while giving you all some cool info and other **** in regards to the sport......not to be a ****ing cop

to those who don't: um sorry. carry on :)

Simple enough. Should be anyways.
