I've never actually heard of Kut Klose, but that was a dope track that you posted up. But when it comes to Soul, nothing is beating these two artists:

I think I got Brown Sugar a week after it came out. Bought the album solely for the title track. I'm in my early 20's. Tells you how young I was listening to stuff like SDM.

100% Ginuwine was late 90's, but a classic nonetheless. I had two copies of dem ****s stolen off me. Final Warning, Same Ol, Whats So Different, NYFB....damn. **** was a classic.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=cenLZpCz4qk

One of my favorite Aaliyah joints as well.

Has to be one of the best R&B releases of the 90's. This gets that right mood set, for those of you who ever listen to msuci when you have girls in bed.

100% Ginuwine is an okay album in my opinion. It is not a classic as every R&B fan says it is...it had two or three great tracks, the rest were ehhhhh and he is not nearly as good vocally as people think he is. It's just that sex appeal he has that people keep buying his ****.

I only discovered Brown Sugar a couple years ago, but it is a definite classic. Anything he puts out is creative and wicked, although it takes a little plays to really dig D'angelo's ****.

As for female artists...I would have to say Sade has the sexiest voice from a female I have ever heard. Anyone remember this ****:

R&B is in a sad state right now. Ne-Yo would not be relevant 10 years ago but right now he is our best hope. But I heard D'Angelo is coming out with a new album this year, which should be dope.

R&B is still around. Just gotta search a bit harder. Too many "R&B" artists infuse rap breaks and pop/club sounds into their tracks now. It ruins them for the most part. I hear that the latest Raheem DeVaughn was really good. I have only heard a few tracks off it, but it definitely sounds like it's worth the buy. Here are some samples:

I'm not a huge fan of Mcknight (his songs are too over the top, imo, like he's almost crying) but there's no doubt about his talent. I think he's got amazing range, probably one of the best in the music business.

Comin From Where I'm From & Charlene is probably two of the best R&B tracks out there. He even did the Blueprint (Momma Loves Me) sample better then Jay did.

He made a new track for the American Gangster Soundtrack (I think it's new) which is typical Anthony...you can feel the pain in his voice, much like a Johnny Cash.

Yeah Raheem DeVaughn is definitely one of the better R&B artists out there nowadays. I just heard one of his songs called Guess Who Loves You More. **** is hot for the ladies. Damn OG. You discovered D'Angelo when you were mad young. I was just a young buck in high school at the time & bought that same album for the exact same reason as you. It's funny you said that. I met him a while back at a hotel where a friend of mine was staying at in Manhattan. He was mad cool. I also met/worked with his mother. Her maiden name is the same as my fams & she thinks we're probably related. Right now we're in the process of tracing that family line down to verify if we are. Strange ****. Brian gets his talent from her & he looks just like her. She serious on that piano.

Yeah I was young. I listened to Brown Sugar over and over and over again until I got a little tired of it, then I explored the rest. Moved onto Lady, then Cruisin, and so on...

Loved Portrait back in the day. "Here We Go" was my favorite track. I also really liked "Honey Dip".

Great story. That'd be crazy if you found out he was a second cousin or something. I was actually watching this "In Studio" thing on BET with Brian McKnight awhile back and he was talking about how he felt he wasn't even the musically talented one in his family. Must be a musical family you say. It was a cool show though, there was a small crowd of people who got to hear him play the piano and sing and talk about his career. I haven't seen any since.

Chris Brown is alright in my view...as far as these pop R&B artists go. I like some Ne-Yo material. "Let Go" was an amazing track. I liked "Touch" by Omarion, mainly because it was a great song to dance to when you go to the club.

Carl Thomas was alright. Average voice...Summer Rain and I Wish were good. His best song is actually a guest spot on a song by a prominent hip hop group.

If anyone can name that song you get some points.^ Just for S & G.

Omarion and Chris Brown both suck. I have heard only 1 good song from both of them a piece since they have been famous. Ne-Yo is a decent artist but you must admit that 10 years ago he would not even be relevant, but R&B is in a sad state (at least the mainstream is) as is hip hop.

Carl Thomas is dope as **** to me...'Let's Talk About It' is a classic album in my opinion and everything else he has done is solid. As for your little trivia question, I'd have to say that song by 8-Ball & MJG, it's on the 2 Fast 2 Furious Soundtrack, I can't remember what its called, I think 'Hands in the Air'...that song is dope as ****, wow I forgot about that song.

As for Baduh, I'm not on her vagina as everyone else is. I haven't liked most of the songs I have heard from her except for her features with the likes of Common, Roots, etc. I'll always consider Laurynn Hill better and more talented.

PS- WTF gringo???That song is gay as ****....lol
