It makes me laugh about the posters in NSB. They think Winky is defensively better than Mundine. Mundines defence is just as good if not better than Winkys. He is also faster and stronger. I actually think Mundine will stop him...

Winky doesnt have the power on paper to make Mundine take notice, so i cant really see this as being a big surprise to boxing followers that Mundine is chasing it. It would be a different story if he was chasing Pavlik or Taylor.

I think everyone always underestimates Winky. Mundine will not stop him if they do fight. He may win and he may even win rather easily, though I doubt it, but he will not stop him. To say Mundine has as good, if not better, defense than Winky is a bit of a stretch. Winky has fought and had his defense tested by the games absolute best and very few have been able to crack it unless Winky himself was fighting differently.

Mundine, even though this was early, has been KO'ed by ... Ottke! Has been beaten by Kessler quite convincingly and really, has not shown the ability to use his defense well against the big boys. Against typical bangers like Green or wild guys like Soliman he looks great and nearly unbeatable but that's not saying much.

I hope he does fight Winky because if he can win it will mean that he's moving in the right direction. He had better get onto it and get onto it fast though because he's certainly no spring chicken and does not have the pleasure of taking his time anymore. He has to get the big fights and get them now!

How can you justify Mundine fighting Soliman again?

This was his response: (he knew my tone of voice sounded annoyed), everything now is about getting more rounds in, than actually protecting him. Hes currently in the US and after the Sammy fight hes not going to be fighting in Australia anymore. The more rounds he gets in the more ready he feels, everything is about staying busy and ready to go abroad.

What are your plans abroad, in the US, who is he going to fight?

Responded quicker this time. Currently Winky remains firmly the number one target. Taylor is second. And Bika is obviously there with his contender win. Were undecided as whether we are going to fight Winky or Taylor first, negotiations may take some time. But if negotiations between us and them get solved quickly, then Taylor or Winky 1st will happen. If not Bika is definetely there, and we are certain to get a fight with him if others fall through.

I was relieved when i heard this today. Its been a long time coming.

And on the Green and Briggs issues. Green does not want to fight Mundine again until he retires. And that might be by the end of 2009 or even 2010 depending how Danny goes. Briggs is looking at other options, even though he can make some big money from fighting Anthony, he knows Echolls, Siaca and Allan Green make a lot more sense until he hits full form again.

Even though your gonna cop a bit of stick from following choc. Just wait until October and then you will be happy.

No. Miranda is high risk for little reward. He has beaten two bums and he won't get a shot at a top SMW unless Bute gives him a shot.

Mirandas best fight he can get will be Pascal.
