If you could get rid of a rapper, passed or present, that would make rap better overall with his or her absense..... Who would it be?

I'll start off....

Soulja Boy.

Jay Z, Nas, Lil Wayne, Biggie, Pac.....All would make and break this industry...
I can go on but I'll stop here..

Jay Z - If he's taken away, I believe there will be a ton of artist getting more pub..When Jay drops, only a few artist are even mentioned up until the release...BUT, we would lose one of our FULL cd hit makers..

Nas - He goes, so does the entire hip hop is dead ****..Nas is a powerful artist and this movement proved that. BUT we would lose one of the last artist that aint afraid to speak his mind..

Lil Wayne - If he's taken away, i feel people would actually listen to music for what it really is, ENT...Since the MTV ****, this artist has been knocked more than any artist in the history of the game..BUT if you lose him, you lose tons of new artist and old artist as well..His features literally MAKE artist, both new and old..He is that connection between the known & unkown for any artist..

Biggie & Pac - When people say the greatest rappers ever, these two steal the spotlight from a Jay Z and other brillant artist..BUT if we lose their music we lose probably the best music ever made from the East & West coast..

That was one of the stupidest posts I've ever read on here. It was well written but without Biggie, Pac, Nas & Jay Hip-Hop as we know it would probably cease to exist. Not to mention all the classic tracks those 4 delivered. Nas' worst album has more classic songs then Wayne does, lawl:owned: And I'm a Wayne fan, but the truth is he is an average emcee and basically a fad that will be over in a year or two unless he reinvents himself and stops jacking everyones style (Clipse, Jigga, etc etc...). Honestly, the only track that some can consider a classic is 'Stuntin' Like My Daddy'..that beat is wicked and the lyrics he spits are sick as hell. Other then that he doesn't have ****.

The fool even said Eminem was scared to work with him....lol. Negroe, Eminem would murder you 10 times over on wax. Anyways, enough of my rant, but without those 4 emcees above, hip hop wouldn't be ****.

As for C-Drone's thread...Yayo and Soulja Boy has already been mentioned. So I now say John Cena...or Lil' Bow Wow. I mean 'Bow Wow'...because he's a 'man' now.

Actually, it is. I was speaking hypothetically, so the decision IS yours. It's not about hating someone it's about loving a culture and genre of music. Some people don't help the genre or culture, they hurt it or set it back or just ALLOW and HELP it stay stagnate. Therefore, they SHOULD be removed. Soulja Boy, in my opinion is that kind of artist.

You don't like the thread, you don't have to contribute.

"I hate Soulja Boy," 12 year-old Arrested For Throwing Rock at Rapper's Tour Bus

In Bloomington, IL a 12-year-old boy was arrested and accused of throwing a rock through Soulja Boy's tour bus windshield Thursday night, police told The Pantagraph.

According to Lt. Pete Avery, the young boy told the officers that he hated Soulja Boy.

Soulja Boy was in town and had performed Wednesday at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. At around 7:40 PM Thursday outside of the Hampton Inn West, the 12 year-old allegedly threw the rock.

Department spokesman Dave White stated that the only other incident reported was a single fight between two women outside the Coliseum the night of the concert. At that time no one was arrested.

Lt. Joe Butcher stated there were only minor problems which were related to patrons having too much to drink, which could happen at similar venues.

The department used a supervisor and five officers on overtime for security for the concert to control the flow with more officers located near the venue as the patrons left, according to Butcher.

In other news, Soulja Boy will be touring with Lil Mama for the "21 & Under" tour starting April 11th - May 11th.

Artists who aren't worth my time, most likley talent-less artists who are only on the tracks due to their catchy swagger and prolly simple-minded lyrics for simple-minded people. There are plenty of MC's who have put other MC's on the map, Wayne has done little compared to others.

Your three year old cousin is being sold a song by a teenager with lyrics that try to make "Superman that hoe" an appealing reference. That alone, one might say, could HURT the genre. Nonetheless, I didn't say he HURT it, he did however allow and help it stay the same. Reliant on ringtones and stagnate with redundant songs that add no real substance.

And by the way, I've never tried to do that dance...... Ever.

The difference between this song and a song like 2 Legit To Quit, is that at that time, song ideas like that were fresh. CDs were also still being a bit more censored at the time. Now, we have a bit more freedom, if given the right circumstances and he chooses to do tired, old trends. It's a bit sad. Make money, do whatever you want. But don't expect me to respect someone for it.

Good thread. I'd remove Wayne before Cam. Cam has more personality on his best tracks, more flavor. I haven't bought into the evolution of Wayne. He went from being an artist with average mic skills and something to prove, to a budding talent who stepped his game up considerably, to proclaiming (along with several of his fans) he's some excellent lyricist (I don't see it), to this almost comedic emcee who likes to put quantity ahead of quality.

Cam really never pretended to be anything he's not. At least that's the vibe I have gotten. He showed pretty solid mic skills in his COC days, but he developed into being more of a humorous, material emcee later on. Here is a good take on him from Flash Juon:

"That's Cam's basic steelo in a nutshell. He alternates between being a street drama narrator, a pharmaceutical entrepeneur, and a straight up hustler looking for bigger and better whips to floss and tits to grab. There's nothing particularly profound or redeeming about it, but there's also nothing overtly offensive about it either. Cam is not the funniest or most gifted rapper in the game, so he relies more on his smooth (almost monotone) vocals and calmly focused lyrical delivery to do the job for him. Provided the beats are tight he can pull it off most of the time."

I think that's a good take on him. Personally, Purple Haze was a better listen than any Wayne album I own (Lights Out, Tha Carter) or have heard (Carter II, 500 Degrees).

You're absolutely right. No one is disputing Wayne on Carter II...most of that CD was fresh as hell and was musically very good and most of the lyrics were on point. But the man is now claiming he is the best rapper alive strictly because of the amount of songs he is featured on. If that was actually the case then Snoop Dogg was the best rapper for about 3 years plus.

And seriously, Cam never has acted as if he is the best rapper alive. And his top 5 tracks > Wayne's.
