urdaddyinAZ 09-22-2004, 05:01 PM How bout this little story.
The night Tyson lost to Buster Douglas I was over at a friends house and we were watching the NBA Slam Dunk contest etc.......I asked him if he had HBO because I wanted to see the fight. He said he didn't because his Mom didn't like the profanity and nudity they had on the shows. After the dunk contest was over....we were flicking thru channels and we cam across the scrambled verison of HBO, but we could here the commentators voices clearly. I told him to hold on a second I wanted to listen and not 15 seconds later Tyson got dropped and stayed down. I was in such shock.....not only that Tyson got knocked out....but that I didn't see it and had to hear it like it was a Jack Johnson fight from the early 1900's. That moment will always be the most vivid boxing memory of my life.
The Fix 09-22-2004, 08:28 PM i think mine would be when roy jones ko'ed virgil hill with that body shot.... the sound of that shot was one of the loudest noises ive heard from a punch on t.v
borikua 09-22-2004, 08:55 PM The night that Tyson bite Holyfield's ear.
bigdlb12 09-22-2004, 09:00 PM When Chavez vs Camacho fought, Camacho put his thumb up chavez ass,lol
doomeddisciple 09-22-2004, 09:26 PM Happiest - Tszyu unifying against Judah
Sadest - Hagler Leonard
Most memorable fight I watched - Michael Carbajal coming off the canvass to stop Humberto Gonzalez in their first fight - That was such a cool come from behind victory.
The Noose 09-22-2004, 11:24 PM First fight i ever saw, Hearns KO duran.
As a big Nigel Benn fan, Benn surviving and beating Gerald Mclenan, watching it live was incredible.
NiGe2011 09-23-2004, 02:33 AM The first boxing PPV I bought that started my boxing love, De La Hoya vs Trinidad. Also, seeing my favorite fighter (Diego Corrales) for the first time on FNF.
marvdave 09-23-2004, 02:48 AM Hagler-Hearns
Holmes-Cooney
mr. bojangles 09-23-2004, 03:56 AM Douglas and Holyfield beating up the beast named Mike Tyson.
That overhand right by Lennox Lewis for Hasim Rahman and the resulting "pop" that was heard around the globe...timbeeerrr! :D
.::|ULTIMATE|::. 09-23-2004, 04:23 AM for me it would have to be the right hand that Chavez landed on taylor that dropped him in the 12th round. That punch was hella vicious snapped taylors head to the right.
jabsRstiff 09-23-2004, 07:57 AM When I saw my favorite fighter, Marvin Hagler, standing over Thomas Hearns after one of history's best fights.
benn mclellan was a goodie, the night that Lewis fought Holyfield the first time.
house full of my closest friends up til 6 am, knowing he had won the fight and then it being a draw. Man it sucked at the time but it was a great night really in retropsect.
f*ck I miss lennox fighting in the early hours and having my buddies about.
I still have those nights but Lennox really unified me and my 5-6 closest mates you know.
good times indeed.
another was me and my bro on a beano up to manchester out of our nuts and blue moon came on 17 thousand mad mancs going crazy, atmosphere was just electric. Then back to very exlusive hotel that had its own nightclub for residents and memebers only til 5 am, packed full of fillies, was ace!
God knows what it would be like when he fights a real top contender (if). Ill go if he does tho.
But only then.

That moment will always be the most vivid boxing memory of my life. This is crazy, but I happen to be in a similar situation as you when one of the biggest sports upsets was happening. I was in my room I was in my early teens and I kept flippin' back and forth from the NBA slam dunk contest and the Tyson-Douglas fight my Dad was out in the living room more focused on the Slam Dunk Contest and I kept coming out of my room to tell my dad to just switch channels 'cause history was unfolding but anyways, what a night that was, you had was it Jordan and Dominique in the finals of the dunk contest and Tyson gettin' ktfo!
Dynamite76 10-17-2004, 05:21 PM Holmes-Cooney

Hurlex 10-17-2004, 07:35 PM i still get chills when i see gatit-ward 1...i am there watching and gatti takes a body shot (that would have killed dlh!) so hard that u could see him breath air out..and gatti goes down..right away i think god thats was a good fight thanks gatti and ward for making this what boxing is all about...then i see gatti get up!!!..and ward comes in..and gatti trades with him..OMG..the hbo crew goes from saying they should stop it to..ward taking hard shots now...and then the sound of the bell to end the 9th i was left there sitting in amazment starring at my tv...from the moment i knew-no matter who wins this..tomorrow there both gonna be winner...and to this day hate them or not...call them whatever u want..but that was the most exciting fight in about 10years..cheers :D :)
another was seeing forman get ko'ed..he hit the ground..and ali doesnt mock him or shout like he did always...he just raises his hands and bows his head as everyone jump into the ring to hug him
