true true. i think the main difference is when you're whole point in saying something is to bring attention to yerself. you can be racist, sexist, etc but people tend to do it better when their goal is just be expressive in a creative way.

The problem with kayjay is that he wasn't banned for a good reason. He obeyed all the rules of the site. He kept his beef in the Thunderdome, didn't make threats, didn't spam, didn't mention race, religion, or family.

But he picked on the object of the mod's pity. It doesn't matter that 75% of the posters on this site have also "been through a lot in life," more than the little twat in question.


In other words, unban kayjay WITHOUT any "stern warning," because he did no wrong in the first place.

i was an admin on this site for a few months when it merged with Global. by default, the "Send me an email notification whenever somebody reports a complaint" option was on. so i got, literally, about 20 complaints per day and they were usually by over sensative pussies for the most trivial shit.

thing is, everytime someone complains, if you wanna be fair you gotta look into the situation. that can take tracing back into a thread (or even multiple threads) to determine if it's a valid complaint and the dude being reported is really ****ing up.

my impression is that this site makes a decent amount of coin considering that they bought us out awhile back and they're still getting involved with events. if Rick and BPP are the only ones with the ability to ban then i can tell you it's IMPOSSIBLE to really attend to all the issues on the board when the overall website requires a lot more attention. especially if this isn't even their full time job. so that means that a lot of shit's gonna get overlooked and a lott've shit will go down unfairly.

as much as i'd like to say solve the problem by limiting the amount of whiney complaints with the Report button, that's not gonna happen. what they need to do is find someone on here who's been on for at least 2 years, posts consistently in most of the forums, stays away from most flame wars, hasn't been banned, and makes quality posts. put that guy in charge of admining forums. i actually think Raae would be a good fit for that.

or just modifiy the posting rules at the top to emphasize the fact that people are on a PUBLIC board and, much like anything in the public, you're bound to see a thing or too that may offend you. don't take it so seriously cause the other 95% of the shit you read and interact with will help you learn way more about the sport and you may meet a buddy or two.
