but when its the olympics or something where we go as Great Britain then we should stick with God Save the queen

I just think God save the queen is pretty **** to tell the truth. I find the welsh, scottish and irish anthem much more inspiring. I know not many of you lads are rugby fans (i am) but whenever you hear their anthems they seem more inspirational

The English national anthem should definatly be Jerusalem. God save our queen is one of the worst national anthems around at the moment, it is not inspiring at all. Take a look at the Welsh one, I have no idea what they are saying, but it is a stirring anthem all the same. Land of hope and glory is also better than what we have now. I sadly cannot see it being changed if i'm honest though.

Inspiring indeed, confusing if you don't speak Welsh but inspiring it is all the same. There's actually a good point still to be made here, as a fellow rugby fan you might understand what I'm on about. On the 3rd of February, Wales won in Twickenham for the first time in my entire life. They played "God Save The Dirty Old Money Grabbing Whore" and barely anyone in Twickenham was singing, yet when they played "Land Of Our Fathers", I could hear singing from a pub that is nearly half a mile down the road. Inspiring is the right word.

i just associate the anthem with some chav football scum mate. I dunno, i just don't find it at all inspirational. The only time i remember feeling proud listening to this anthem was when Dallaligo was in floods of tears in the world cup 2003
